Question about blocks and categories

I use your them with a plugin called The Events Calendar. The site is basically a large online community calendar for the area. Your theme is great because of the blocks and grids. On the home page I can feature certain events that are in the calendar. I have categories like featured, spotlight kids and so and so forth. I have to create posts for each event that is in the calendar that I want to feature. Honestly it is redundant. Here is why. The events themselves are pulled in by the events calendar plugin and created as a custom post type of “tribe_events”. I have been able to add this to the filter for the blocks and then select an assigned tag. However, when I do this for multiple blocks the site seems to become sluggish and the crashes. I Have to reset and clean a lot of transient files out of the database and go back to just selecting post types and not custom post types with tags. So essentially I have to create two posts for the featured events. I do this by using a plugin called “post to url” and just redirect to the real event post. As I said earlier this is redundant and labor intensive. Do you know what I am doing wrong or maybe I don’t have set up correctly? I have “tribe_events” listed in the custom post types of the theme panel.

Thank you of the reply. I have done this and also added to filter by a certain tag. This is where the site will then seems to become sluggish then eventually crash.

Is there anything I should (or should not be) changing the theme panel, CPT $ Taxonomy? Here is what I have now.
