Hi,
I’d like to set two different default post templates.
– For posts with type “Standard” I’d like the default to be Style 1
– For posts with type “Video” I’d like the default to be Style 2
As our authors can’t select a template, we have to set the default somewhere in the settings.
As I see it, it’s a very common usecase, so I hope this is already possible and I’m just blind?! ó.O

Our theme has an option to set the default post template site-wide but there is no option to set different post templates for particular cases. Sorry. You will have to hire a developer to implement such functionality.

I’m looking for the exact same thing. Maybe a guide would be helpful if this is not already added.
Unfortunately there is no guide because there is no official solution for this. There is no setting in the the theme to set particular post templates for particular categories. It can only be made custom but we have no code to provide on this. Sorry.
