Hello !

Please note that you can export the Newspaper Theme settings as you can see here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-export-theme-settings/

Also we suggest reinstalling the tagDiv composer plugin after the migration process is done.

Thank you !

Vlad, Maybe you didnt understand: we restored the site to the state it was before the migration.
it should be exactly how it was, but it isn’t. all settings are lost and empty.
where are the settings stored in the DB ? maybe we can copy it from there,
hours of work have now gone lost due what seems to be a sloppy theme architecture.this never happens with other themes
I need you to make an effort here and help me find the original setting.
thank you

Hi,
i found the settings in wp-options table, option td_011
its plain text. i tried:
1. to paste it as is in the import box – its fails with “invalid data” error
2. i tried to encode it to base64 and import, same result.

please explain in details how to import. your documentation doesnt explain if it needs to be base64 or plain text.
in the email i sent you i attached the string from the database, maybe you can validate it and encode for us.
also please note – while we migrated, the license had expired, we then renewed it again this week to get support. maybe its related.

We require this urgently, please try to respond ASAP
Thank you

So, we experimented with the DB wp-options table, option td_011.
it seems even if we copy the DB settings value and paste it back in again, the site settings are lost and the site is back to square one. its a waste of time and money….

Hello !

Please note that your request is not Newspaper Theme related. If you want to migrate your website you can contact our custom work team here: https://tagdiv.com/premium-customization-services/

From what our team has tested your database doesn’t seem to be correct. Migration is not covered by the support team.

Thank you for your understanding !

Thank you Mr.Vlad,
Can you explain why after restoring the site from a Wpengine backup the settings are lost ?
i’m in a situation now that i cannot restore the site in the future or make any changes to it because i’m too afraid to lose all the work done until that point.
Does this seem reasonable to you ?

Hello !

A backup is created by your host. All the settings are held by the database from your host. This problem occurs from your host not from theme settings. Also as you can see here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ We DO recommend making sure that you are having a backup first, and also do the update on a staging website.

We understand your frustration but your issue is more related to a host issue not theme issue.

I hope this was helpful !

Thank you !
