Shortcodes on Mobile theme

Dear all,

I’ve read on your support forum that Mobile theme plugin doesn’t support Visual Composer due to simplicity, page loading speed etc. That also resolves in not rendered shortcodes which are registered in VC. I also tried to use WP default shortcodes, but with the same result.

Is there any way to use any shortcodes on Mobile theme? Whole point of shortcodes is to easy reuse an useful snippet anywhere on the site, in unlimited number of places.

Kindly waiting for your reply, and help 🙂

Thank you.

Cheers,
Nemanja.

Hello,
In order to use shortcodes in the mobile theme you have to place them inside of your post content if for posts you want to have them, or in the mobile editor on pages.
(There is a second editor in page edit)
Thank you!

Hi Bogdan,

Thank you for your reply.

Just to rephrase my question. I’ve tried to use shortcode in posts, for mobile theme, and they don’t appear. Tried custom shortcodes I created, and the default ones from WP. Both not visible.

Do i need to enable shortcodes for mobile?

& Can I please have an example of a default shortcode and custom shortcode which you know will work?

Thank you.

Hello,

it depends on the shrotcode and what it does. We have not tested the mobile theme with all shortcodes as this is a very general term. Anything can be a shortcode but not all of them will work. For example a revolution slider shortcode works just fine on the mobile theme: http://screencast.com/t/8nAVaOwDV
What shortcode do you wanty to implement. What is it supposed to do?

Thank you!

Hi Bogdan,

I have created a very simple shortcode to display a custom styled button. It’s just an anchor tag, with an URL as the parameter, that’s it. I want to use this in posts and pages.

Does it matter that I registered these shortcodes in Visual Composer also, because I want to add them to my content from VC?

Thanks.

Well, that could be the reason the mobile theme will not display themn. The mobile theme was built to ignore visual composer. Please read this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
Try to use the shortcodes separate from visual composer and add them in the mobile editor for pages.
Thank you.

Forgive me for repeating myself, but the whole problem is related to posts, not to pages, because I need my shortcodes visible in posts. And mobile editor doesn’t exist in posts.

Hello Baracuda011,

Please keep in mind that the shortcodes (from visual Composer) are not recognized by our Mobile Theme, as my colleague Bogdan said you above. If you are not satisfied with our mobile theme you should disable this plugin and the theme will be automatically switched to general responsive mobile which will recognize your shortcodes.
If you want to use some shortcodes to your posts you can do it in Editor Mode, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/UEyO0W1Xw

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!
