Hi,
You can do this using some single post template from tagDiv Cloud Library and edit them with tagDiv Composer and set/remove date, in this way You’ll set the single post template on the News category with date and for the rest of post you can set the other single post template.
Thank you!
Hi,
You need to set manually the single post template on each category that have the News category -> https://www.screencast.com/t/XbDQHpwW or global on Theme panel ( the individual template will overwrite the general template ) -> https://www.screencast.com/t/pf2XuMz9
Thank you!
After applying a template it’s showing wp_booster error.

Hi,
Since Newspaper v9.7 the child theme is working only for the functions.php and style.css files.
I’ve checked your post and now is working correctly with that single post template -> https://www.screencast.com/t/PcC5285yV9
Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict with untested plugins, please deactivate all non theme/tested plugins, also if you are using child theme, clear all cache and try again.
Please make sure that all the settings are like in our requirements, please follow the guide carefully
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
and please increase all requirements that are lower, and follow all steps.
Thank you!
The problem is in the child theme. It’s working fine with the main theme.
I created a template for news category, but it’s not showing on amp version. How to fix that?
The template shows a thumbnail at the top and shows the date.

Hi,
Most of the theme files were moved into the tagdiv composer plugin as per the requirements of envato: https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements.
We wrote an article on the subject here: https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
Moving forward with such requirements, a child theme will only work with functions.php, and style.css as there are very few files left in the main theme as envato requires all functionality to be added through plugins.
There is only one inline ad spot provided by the theme. I believe there are plans to add more in a coming theme update. Sorry for the inconvenience.
So for the moment you could enter the ad code in the post content itself, or try this solution provided by a theme user

Thanks.
