Show extended post settings on Custom post type

Hello,
I’ve used a plugin named CPT UI in order to create some custom post types. I’ve noticed though, that when I try and add a new post for the newly created post type, I cannot see the extended post settings at the bottom of the edit post page but just a simple one where I can choose how I want to display the sidebar. Is there a way to have the full settings like in normal posts or/and even better, be able to choose what layout to have for each custom post types? Thanks for your support and help! Claudio

Hi,

Unfortunately custom post types do not have access to the default post settings and options. The settings will be limited. Maybe more options will be added in future theme updates but I cannot say for sure. The only custom post possibilities are mentioned here

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks

Hi Simon,
Thanks for clearing it up. It would be a nice feature to have, but I know you have a long list of requests already.

(Just out of curiosity, I did a test and modified the td_set_post_settings_cpt.php file by copying the appropriate content from td_set_post_settings.php. The options showed up ok in the ‘edit’ window, but the settings didn’t seem to make any difference. I’m sure it’s connected to more than one php file. Anyway, if there is a quick workaround to get it to work, it would be a bonus. If not, that’s ok.)

Hi,

@pinnaclecompass
They will probably show up, but they will not have the necessary functionality. The custom post type features would be somewhat limited at the moment, sorry for the inconvenience.
