where do i locate the area for, adding and managing the sidebar?

As with all WordPress installs:
WP admin > appearance > widgets

http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Widgets

if that didn’t help; please be more specific and official tagdiv support will respond as soon as they are able 🙂
