We received the email that there was a new update for the Newsmag theme. That is great.
If we do the update will we loose the formatting, layout, set up that we currently have at http://www.ilike2complain.com/
We worked hard to get the layout, colors, and set up where we want it and do not want to have to do that work again if we install the new updated theme files..
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
You don’t lose the settings in the admin panel (and you can export those at any time for safe keeping). YOu might have to reset the sidebars sometimes but that’s an issue with WP, and not the theme.

Please follow our update guide and use one of the methods provided there to update the theme and you don’t need to worry you shouldn’t lose any of your theme settings by updating the theme, just make sure you also do a backup of your current theme/wp install and database also: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and in case something goes wrong in the update process you can always go back to the previous working version and try again.
