SITE CRASH – Updating from Newspaper 7 to Newspaper 8

Hi there,

Please help!
After updating my client’s site from Newspaper7 to Newspaper8 via the WordPress installation Method “C”, the site crashed and now I am unable to access the site both from the front-end and admin end.

This is the error message that is displayed when trying to load the site:

Fatal error: Class ‘td_config_helper’ not found in /home2/casablanca/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/td_config.php on line 2582

Please can you help me sort this out ASAP.

Hello,

Please download the latest version (8.7.2) from themeforest and then use the FTP method to update the theme. Afterwards, please make sure you update the theme plugins as well because they will not update automatically. Disable and delete the current ones you have installed now and then install them again from the theme plugins section.

I am having this problem with the current 8.7.4 file the site is down, if I disable all the plugins and upload the files again I will no longer have this problem?
PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class ‘td_config_helper’ not found in /var/…/htdocs/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/td_config.php:2582

@silvanocv Disable the theme plugins and remove them, then install them again from the theme plugins panel

Then check the results. If possible the FTP method should always be used when updating, it is the most reliable.
