Site Loading Misconfigured

When my site loads (www.festivalsnobs.com), for a split second, it loads all misconfigured, then refreshes and loads correctly. This is happening on multiple networks, mobile, and on Chrome/IE/Firefox/Safari.

I’ve attached a screenshot of what it looks like when it first loads.

The only hunch I have is to maybe update my PHP configuration? Currently its 5.4(FastCGI).

I’m so stumped here.

Hi,

Your images are uncompressed, because of this it takes a lot for the page to load. Try to regenerate all thumbs and compress the logos(use Photoshop or similar to reduce the image size) – http://screencast.com/t/1P6FvnKj4m

For the featured images follow this guide (chapter 3) – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/

Thank you!

I’ve had this same issue before and I resolved it, but I can’t remember how.

I recently had to disable Jet Pack but I’m re-installed it and enabled Photon which should solve the image compression issue.

But I’m still having the same issue with the site momentarily loading mis-configured?

Hi,

I’ve checked again and it seems that photon doesn’t fully compress them – http://screencast.com/t/Yhppnc6yp
Even if they come from cdn this may still delay the page load speed. My point is that the images can be compressed even more.

The page is loading properly now, there’s less delay and the css loads on time, i don’t see any broken layout anymore. – http://screencast.com/t/CiZ6WGgUh

So now I’m having an issue where when my site first loads, it shows all Arial standard fonts, then after 2-3 seconds refreshes to show all of my custom settings.

Also images are randomly breaking, and some of my plugins have stopped working like my Flickr Gallery to show photo galleries.

I’ve had nothing but problems since I updated to the latest version of Newspaper 🙁 🙁 I just want my old site back that ran smoothly.

@neotrope I know you’re good at stuff like this. Help? lol

Hi,

Last time i’ve checked your site it was running smooth, no delay in page render. I guess you made some changes, please provide details about those changes.

The images are still not properly compressed – http://screencast.com/t/GC98gBOA7 – try this method – http://screencast.com/t/HIla2bM7oc – you can find it on chapter 3 – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/

The browser leverage cache is not set – http://screencast.com/t/jLjJnh4zD9 – try the solution provided on chapter 2 – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/

Thank you!

Thanks @suport001. I have done everything on that page it says to do to speed up my site.

However the errors are STILL occurring when I first refresh an article. My article title will show up in black and in a different font, then immediately switch to my custom settings.

Additionally, my “Home” and “About” links in my Top Menu show up as blue instead of white. But ONLY on my homepage. They show as white like they’re suppose to on every other page. SO weird, lol.

All of this starting happening when I upgraded to the latest version of Newspaper 🙁

Hi,

This usually happens because of the speed booster plugin which move the css and js at the bottom of the page structure so that the page will load faster, this is why the theme default color appears first then changes, because of the cascading property of css. A solution is to change the color directly into css stylesheet file, which will make your colors to load first and stay that way. You could also deactivate the plugin if you don’t need it and see if you still have this issue.

Thanks!

Hey @alin_vlad

Ive deactivated the speed booster plugin, and the issue still occurs.

Actually, without the speed booster plugin, my custom settings won’t load at all, haha. My top menu bar stays black.
