slow page speed, css and license

1. Is there a plugin tagdiv css analyser for the newsmag template and how can I activate it?
when I test Google page speed, I get bad results, mostly because of large css and js files.

td_legacy_main.css is almost unnecessary for non-registered users.

2. is there an option for extra payment from newsmag to newspaper template, I see that you update the newspaper more often, it also has a wider template?
or will I have to buy a new license again?

Hello,
1. Unfortunately, that tool is only for Newsmag, but you can check the other steps from our guide -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
2. The only option is to buy the Newspaper theme, there is no system to switch themes ( option for extra payment from newsmag to newspaper template).
The Newsmag theme is more simple and has boxed content, the Newspaper theme has many options and customizable templates (cloud templates that can be customized using tagDiv Composer) -> https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-vs-newsmag-how-to-choose-the-perfect-wordpress-theme-for-your-project/
Thank you!

ok, thanks for the answer.
1. do you mean newspaper?
2. ok, maybe do some action for the New Year holidays 🙂

I managed to expand the width of the template to 1200px and on the first P+V website, I got 90 for mobile / 95 desktop on the google page speed test
Google page speed P+V

Although it is a huge website with over 20 google dfp banner positions.

I had to modify your Newsmag/style.css and td-composer/legacy/Newsmag/assets/css/td_legacy_main.css a lot
there is still space for reduction and a better rating.

On the other Podovi website, I didn’t change those two files, so far.
I just minified them, I get 83 mobile / 93 desktop

Basically, these two files must definitely be reduced, they are too big and too unused.
big css

Basically, I am satisfied with the template. I will probably try the newspaper as well, because I am planning to upgrade one of those two web portals soon.

Hello,
Indeed, the results obtained by you are very good!
The same configurations that are exemplified in the Newspaper can also be done in Newsmag (with the exception of tagDiv Analyzer).
Unfortunately, all the css from the theme is loaded in these files, even if it is not used. In order to be able to solve this problem and for the theme to function as it should in the future, a major change in the theme is needed
Thank you!

this file is totally unnecessary.
td-composer/legacy/Newsmag/assets/css/td_legacy_main.css
It loads over 600Kb unnecessarily.
Most of that CSS is in the upper part of the site, which should be critical css.
The template knows a lot of problems for users who do not maintain pagespeed…
In the google search console, the website can get a rating of poor instead of good.
And then the ranking and the number of visits start to drop.

Hello damir78,
Unfortunately, the css on Newsmag is most of it in the same file, which is why td_legacy_main.css is loading, but there is unnecessary CSS in it. Our developer has a task to break the code in that file into pieces, but I don’t know what stage they have reached.
What I can recommend is to use a dedicated plugin for page speed, maybe WP Rocket will help you:

It would be good if you did that and also put the possibility of a wider template. When it’s this narrow, it looks outdated.
I have done more than wp rocket can do, and I have 4 web portals.
The emphasis should be on posts.
2 special files with css in the upper part and so that 1 is loaded for mobile and 1 for tablet and desktop.
The rest of the css can be loaded in the footer (there is a command in WP for that).

Hi,
I hope css will be broken into pieces as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, I don’t know what to say about a wider template, Newsmag wasn’t designed for that, but you can try Newsmag, it’s much more flexible and fully editable with tagDiv Composer.
Thank you!
