Hello,
I recently changed my old website’s theme to Newspaper 9. Now I have a problem with Smart Sidebar: it does not work, because my (old) pages are not created with TD Composer.
Question: is there ANY way to make Smart Sidebar work? I have hundreds of pages, so editing them one by one with TD Composer is not an option. Is there a way to fix this by customizing the code?
P.s. I already searched the forum but did not find a clear answer. Thanks for your reply!
Hi,
If you made those page with visual composer please make sure that you get from themeforest the theme with all files and install the Wp Bakery -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Hope this will help you!
Thanks.
Hi Calin,
Thanks for your quick reply – but unfortunately it did not help me. Let me explain the issue in more detail:
When I started using Newspaper 9 about three months ago, I went through all old content and deleted manually all unnecessary shortcodes from the old theme. Now all shortcodes are from Newspaper 9. I have TD Composer, of course, but have not been using it – all pages are made without any “visual composer”.
Here’s an example of a page (it’s a Page, not a Post):

I would be very happy if you are able to help me with this issue; I’m about to update my other website from Newspaper 8 to 9, and after the update I will have this same problem once again. In that other website Sticky Sidebar works, probably because it’s Newspaper 8.

Hi,
If you are not using any builders on pages all you need to do is to make sure that you enable the smart sidebar from theme panel -> https://www.screencast.com/t/hw91IwQ3P
Here is our documentation for Smart sidebar -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/smart-sidebar-2/
Thank you!
Thanks, but unfortunately that works only with Newspaper 8, not with Newspaper 9. That’s why I’m asking; I have swithched smart sidebar on in theme panel, but it is not working 🙁
