The Facebook count on the social counter is way off. It says that I have 39 fans, when I really have 1681. Any way to fix this?

Hello,
Please update the social counter to the latest version and use this tutorial for the facebook button https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial-2/. The input method was changed as facebook changed some of it’s code and affected our social counter.

I do have the latest version installed, I just verified that. And it is set up per the tutorial. What now?

(I am adding my experience with this problem to this thread – I have not resolved this problem with my site)
I read instructions and watched video and did all of it – adding Facebook app ID, key and token.
I installed through FTP then I tried uninstalling via WP.
I cleared cache each time. (used ZenCache plugin to clear cache)
The Facebook count just won’t work. I’m not sure how the WordPress install ***still remembers the old Facebook Like count, I would like to find where that data stored so I can clear THAT cache/temp file.
If there is help beyond the tutorial – which was a very good tutorial by the way – please share because I have spent a few hours on this problem.

The counter shows 0
I have this same issue. I have about 9,000 fans on facebook but it’s showing 0 Fans on the counter.

Had the same Issues with the Social Counter after Update. The Counter has shown Zero.
I reopend the Social Counter and deleted the Secret Token and saved the Module. Then I opened again the the Social Counter Module again and clicked the Secret Token and saved again.
This brought back my Facebook Fans.

Hi,
Please make sure you update your theme and use the latest version of the social counter. The old one will not work anymore. Make sure you have the app key option in your social counter and then use the method above to get the key and insert it in the plugin settings. Please note that this is not a live count. If there is a connection problem the counter could go to 0 and then get your followers again when it refreshes. You can refresh it manually as kstockl suggested above.

Same Problem here. Facebook Count is off by approx 300 Fans. Using the Latest version of everything. Plus the App ID as instructed within the Tutorial. No change. Not working. Help!

I could not find from where “Facebook Token” can be deleted / added in Social Counter. It is not coming while I click at Social Counter widget. I could find only one place where I can add Facebook ID, Twitter ID, etc. Am I looking at wrong place? I remember that earlier though I saw somewhere this Token somewhere. But I could not figure out now? Even the screen shot shared above is not similar what I am seeing.

Loving this theme! Like everyone else, I’ve followed the tutorial and your other suggestions and I’m still getting a 0 count on my Facebook page.

I will post a message for all users who seem to have problems with the social counter. Please make sure you have these requirements before further investigation is required:
1) Please make sure you have the latest theme version: 6.6.1. If not, you need to follow this guide to update your theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
2) Having the latest version of the theme is not enough if you do not update the social counter as well. You need to remove the current version you use: http://screencast.com/t/4jvRwNzK and then install the version of the plugin that comes with the 6.6.1 theme: http://screencast.com/t/9AKKURjTjX
You can recognize if you have the correct version of the plugin when you see the new app key settings: http://screencast.com/t/CIXxklBanNl If you do not have these settings in your social counter it means you do not have the correct version.

Please keep in mind that the social counter is not a live count. It will update once every few hours.
Once you followed all the above steps properly and made sure you have not missed anything, (and the social counter still does not work), then you can send an email to contact@tagdiv.com with your login information so we can further inspect the issue.

I set up my Facebook counter yesterday and thought I was having the same problem. But it just took about an hour for it to reflect my correct count. I added another follower on Facebook and my counter updated in about the same amount of time. So it seems to be working fine, you just have to be patient after you configure it correctly.
Followed all the directions and the counter works now. Thanks so much.

SOLUTION: Social Counter Problem Resolved after following these things:
1) Please make sure you have the latest theme version: 6.6.1.
2) Now update the social counter. Remove the current version and install the version of the plugin that comes with the 6.6.1 theme
You can recognize if you have the correct version of the plugin when you see the new app key settings: http://screencast.com/t/CIXxklBanNl If you do not have these settings in your social counter it means you do not have the correct version.
3) Now Flush the Cache and See if the FB counter is showing the right number.
If not, clear the History in the Browser. Then RESTART the Computer. And Check the Counter again.
4) If it does not work, remove the Facebook APP ID and Save it again. And Repeat Step 3.
5) Now Add the FB APP ID etc again. And repeat Step 3.
This way, at least mine started working. I hope it helps.
