That would be unusual, the previous theme version 8.7.3 contained the Instagram issue fix. All the problems that were mentioned after updating were caused by a form of cache, CDN, even browser cache. We could take a look if you could provide a link to your website.
There was an update released today, which also provides some more fixes including Facebook social counter (changelog here)

Hi, I’ve got the same problem. Updated to the latest version 8.7.4, updated the site and cleared all caches. Instagram works for the first time. Facebook counter still 0 FANS. Solution? Thanks

@zoeMedia Note that the configuration of the social counter has changed, now you only need to add the ID in the required field and it will work

Check if the theme plugins have been automatically updated, the new versions are these

In some cases they are not updated automatically, update them manually if that is the case. Let us know.

Same issue here as well. Twitter auto populates with the correct information, but Facebook, Instagram and Youtube show zero.
I have setup the plug in correctly, double check via your link above and I’ve just updated the theme, however it appears that the social counter plug in did not update. I understand you said to update it manually, could you please tell me where I can find the updated plug in.

The Instagram feed in the footer built into the Newspaper theme isn’t working for me. I updated the theme this morning. I replaced the instagram id with coca-cola and their images showed up as expected. When I replace coca-cola with my id stoneandsonsworkshop the images don’t show up. Help. website: stoneandsons.net

Could have been some caching, if you still see older images clear the browser cache.

Hi, I have the same problem. When I replace TagDiv name with my wirtualnestarachowice counter facebook show 0 fans. Any other fanpages shows numbers of fans corect but not main. Pleas help.
