Wonderful theme, working like a charm up to now!!
I have 2 questions/issues though, that i need your guidance to fix!
1) Social Counter is not updating for some reason.
Plugin Version 2.1
Theme Version 4.2
WP Version 3.9.2
It was working fine up to a certain point where it stropped updating, when i went to change the ID (e.g Facebook) to test it, it shows “0” likes (therefor putting back the previous Facebook id shows “0” again)
How can I fix this??
2) Updating WP, Theme and Plugins

Many plugins need to be updated too. The issue is that we have made it multi-site and we have done quite a lot of modifications. As the client is a newspaper portal you understand it is very risky and we can just go down for couple of days. So my question is, if we just go into maintenance for couple of hours and update theme and plugin (maybe WP too) will we lose anything? Is the latest update changing anything that might affect our update and lose anything? Is there anyway you can advice to apply the updates with the minimum risk of losing anything modified?

If you update from version 4 to 6, then all customization will be lost.
Newspaper 6 is a whole new theme so an update from 4 to 6 may cause the same issues as switching to another theme (but we did try to maintain compatibility where ever possible).
Always make a full backup of your current installation – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups and then do a clean update, meaning that we recommend that you delete the old version of the theme before uploading the new one – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ update also the plugins that come with the theme files from the /plugins folder. In the “how to update” guide is specified that you will have to run the script that will import from database your settings.
The shortcodes have been changed so old ones will not work anymore. Please note that old files customization or custom css will not work with the new version and you will have to adjust or re-add them.
Bottom line is that newspaper 6 is a whole new theme built from scratch.
Unfortunately you will have to clear your agenda and spare a bit of time to adjust all your settings to the new version of the theme.
