I would like to understand how the popular sorting works 
.
Especially the meaning of “Jetpack + stats module required”. Do I have to install them separately? Can you explain “Does not work with other settings/pagination” better? Are these too last 7 days most viewed posts or all time?
What about “theme counter (enable from panel)”? How this one works?

The popular sorting needs to be activated from the theme panel and it is based on the post views. It needs the post views to be active for the sorting to work. The jetpack stats module sorting needs the jetpack plugin. It uses jetpack to return the proper posts.
