Hi everyone!
We’ve tried to update our site (mundopositor.info) from Newspaper 10.4 to 11, twice times (last one to 11.1). Both times we got the following error and we had to restore the previous version:
PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘?’ in #####/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/includes/td_config.php on line 32641
This error affects both front and back, showing a fatal error. Once we manually uninstall td-composer plugin, we was able to access the frontend and dashboard views, but (obviously) the frontend content was a completely mess.
We tried to manually update that plugin (following this guide https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-how-to-update-a-plugin/), but we got the same error.
Finally, we decided to rollback changes and still using the Newspaper 10.4 version while we find a solution.
Any thoughts?
Further info:
We are running PHP 5.6.40 and we are not able to upgrade to a 7 version.
Our WordPress version is 5.8.
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Please make a full backup, send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin and Cpanel access, so we can investigate this issue. Also paste a link to this topic so we can easily identify you. Let us know and we will gladly assist you.
Thanks!
Hi, Bettina!
Thanks for contacting me.
I’m afraid I am not able to provide you a server access at this time (we do not use CPanel, so we would have to provide you SSH access), but I can ease you a WP admin access and give you all the information you would need from the server (error logs, files, etc.). Does it work for you?
Thanks!
Bettina, I’ve just realized that the site is down but nobody has answered us the questions we asked (via email to contact@tagdiv.com) that were mandatory before updating the theme.
Could you, please, let us know what is going on and what are the next steps? Please, we need the site right back asap.
Thanks.
