Hello theg1819,

Please notice that our theme has been fully tested before releasing and we have not encountered any type of error in this regard, sorry! Please try to re-install the theme via FTP way according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/ Use only our tested and required plugins which come bundled with the theme core files and check the results.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the message!

I reverted back to 8 which solved my problem. No one else is having issues like this?

Make sure you update the plugins AND the theme together; delete old folder, don’t ‘overwrite’ old ones.

Clear transients with WP-Optimize plugin

Resave permalinks

Works for me doing that.

(also: make sure you’re using PHP 5.6 or higher; as older versions will not work well with most current WP updates, plugins, code, etc. — and older versions are ‘end of life’ now, esp 5.2/5.3).

delete old plugin folder or theme folder?

Post count: 9544

Normal WP practice.
When you update themes and plugins, you *delete* old versions and upload new ones, not mix them together.

Im sorry Im very new at this, but won’t it cause a issue if I delete a active theme and then install a new one? Plugins and themes I usually just get a message to update in wp-admin and I do so. This is slightly new to me.

Hello theg1819,

To be sure if you have the latest theme version you should download the theme’s packet from Theme Forest and then install it via FTP way because this is the surest method in this case, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/ To bring the best theme results, notice that you should use only the plugins that come bundled with the theme packet.

Thanks for the message!

I did it and thought everythings was going well but there seems to be some issue while viewing on smartphones. I inspected the page and came up with this error
:tagdiv_theme.min.js?ver=8.1:174 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘replace’ of undefined
Frames show up empty on the site.

Hello theg1819,

Please notice that our latest theme version was fully tested and after many tests seem to work as expected. If you are using some untested plugins, try to disable all of them, leave just only the plugins which come bundled with the theme core files and use only required plugins and check the results. If you are using some untested plugins, you should disable all of them, clear all the caches and check the results. It seems to be JS issue which can break your theme functionality. Maybe exists some corrupt js files. To avoid this reasons, you should try making a new clean install, from scratch.

Thanks for the message!

FRom scratch means reinstalling the updated theme like a update via FTP?

Post count: 23312

Hi,

Yes, and if you have some additional customizations through your theme you should load the theme without them to see if there are conflicts. You should revert the theme to the default state. Clear all the caches and check the results.

Thanks.

Hmm, Ive tried to do reload the theme again but its the same issue. Is it safe t revert back to 8.0? I have no issue there.

Post count: 16

that actually did not help.. I reverted to 8.0 and the issue is still there.

Hello theg1819,

Should work as expected if the theme was right installed according to our documentation. Please notice that our theme, before releasing it was fully tested and should work as expected. If the problem is still there, you should try to create a new subdomain and install there the theme and check the results. Use only the plugins that come bundled with the theme core files and if you are using some untested plugins, you should remove all of them because all of these might interact with the theme core files and causes a lot of unknown issues.

Thanks for your understanding!

So I have a sub domain I use to test. I reset the theme settings, deactivated all the plugins, uninstalled the theme, re installed the theme and its still having issues.

So have figured it out. The slide element is broken. You guys should look into it.If I add the slide element it breaks the site. If I replace it with another element ten all is fine.
