Theme Causing 2/3rd of Admin Ajax Requests

I noticed an increased number of “503 service unavailable error” since the last couple of days. And at one point the site was not staying live for 10 seconds.

After checking with the server support I got a reply like this –

“the currently used theme is causing quite large number of executions of the admin-ajax.php file:

As you can see, 2/3 of the admin-ajax.php requests are caused by the theme.

Since we are not sure what these requests due I would suggest that you contact with the theme developers and ask them if these can be reduced or avoided.”

I am hosted with Siteground – 8 CPU Cores, CentOS, 16GB RAM, 40GB SSD, cPanel, Cloud Storage, Management Services.

The traffic has been steady over the past few months and never experienced something like this.

Can you please throw some light on this ?

Hello LeagueOne,

Until now, please keep in mind that we do not have any bad reports in this case and the theme should work as expected by default. Try to make a new clean install to another domain and install the latest version of the theme via FTP way because this is the surest theme method. Clear all the caches and check the results. For more information about fixing this problem, please take a closer look at the following useful tutorial here -> http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-503-service-unavailable-error-in-wordpress/

Thanks for your understanding!

I have exactly the same problem for the theme. Have made a fresh install but this does not help. the problem has become more acute since i have switched to tag dive composer instead of visual bakery

Well, I could login to the admin panel as well the site is running fine for now.

But, the 503 error pops up at random and it is not dependent on the intensity of traffic.

To be honest I am lost here, this types of errors are always tricky.

Hi all,

Thanks for the inputs.

I’d activated Cloudflare and the problem is not found since the last 48 hours.

I will keep observing for the next couple of days and post here if anything unusual is found. Hope this will be help for other users facing the same problem as well.
