I’m developing a website using Newspaper 6 child theme (hosted on wpEngine): http://glacierjournal.wpengine.com/
I’m trying to set my global fonts (theme panel => theme fonts) and none of the changes I make are actually working. When I go to inspect element I can see that no custom font rule is even being generated. Furthermore, if I try to declare a font in the child-theme styles.css, I’m forced to use !important and even then it only affects some of the matched elements (e.g. some h3’s will change, but not all h3’s).
However, Google Fonts is working perfectly within revolution slider.
What am I missing?
Hello ArthurConan,
First of all, please try all of these settings in our main theme and check it how it works. Probably your child theme is broken and it is necessary to be uploaded to the latest version. Please try this in main theme and let us know how it goes.
Thank you for your understanding!
Thanks for you reply. To reiterate the problem:
I’m trying to set global fonts (theme panel => theme fonts) and none of the changes I make are actually working. I’m using the backend, but the fonts aren’t changing. FYI, I’m currently using the latest version of Newspaper 6, purchased last week.

Hello ArthurConan,
Please make sure that your untested plugins which you are using do not affect the behavior of the theme. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Also, please make a fresh install via FTP by following this tutorial: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ Your settings will not be affected as they are stored in the database. Simply download the latest version of the theme again and install it directly and see if your fonts work.
Unfortunately, I cannot recreate your issue and on my side, the fonts work fine by default.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks.
