Theme Panel does not save

Hello,
My theme panl of Newspaper 8 does not save anymore (e.g. Sub.Footer Settings). I contacted my hosting company and they were not able to fix the problem and wrote this message to me:
Hello Nerissa,

We have checked Apache, Mod Security and PHP logs; however, there are no ones related to your website. The same thing is when we check the Console tab for your website in a browser.

Also, we have tried testing your website with different PHP versions with different extensions, but it didn’t help. Cache plugin does not cause this issue as well.

This means that there are no blocks on the server’s end. In this case, we would like to recommend contacting the developers of this theme for an assistance.

Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us via Live Chat or reply to this ticket. We will gladly assist you with them.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi,

There should not be any problem is saving theme panel settings. Please check the theme system status and see if the parameters are set according to this guide
https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
You could ask the hosting provider to make theme for you if needed. Then check if everything works properly.
If there is still a problem, please deactivate all plugins except theme plugins and clear any installed cache. Then check in the theme panel while saving settings, if there are any errors in the browser console. Press F12 to bring up the inspector window and then open the console
https://www.screencast.com/t/ENQ5a8CB8
Check if there are any errors in this console. The admin ajax process could be blocked by the server, because of the multiple requests that it makes. In this case you can contact the hosting provider and explain this situation or provide a screenshot with the error.
They should be able to fix it if this is happening.
Please let us know the results.

Thanks

I get this message:
load-scripts.php?c=1&load[]=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,utils,plupload,jquery-ui-core,jquery-ui-widget,jquery-ui-mouse,jquery-ui-draggable,jquery-ui-slider,j&load[]=query-touch-punch,iris,wp-color-picker&ver=4.8.1:9 JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 1.4.1
2.jpg Failed to load resource: net::ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

Also I updated max_input_vars from 1000 to 5000 but it won’t show up on the system panel.

What should I do? The other day, I changed the homepame. Can it be that the reason for not working anymore?

Hi,

You could ask for help or advice from the hosting provider for the modification of those WordPress and server parameters. This might be the cause for the issue. After making the changes, check if the theme panel is saving properly.
The theme is compatible with PHP version up to 7.1, higher versions could cause issues.
Also you could try to deactivate all the plugins except theme plugins, and test again to rule plugins.
If you use custom code in the theme panel, remove it for testing. Switch to the main theme if you use a child theme.
Please let us know the results.

Thanks

Hello,
All other parameters are correct. I do not understand that in the file php.ini I have this:

; Maximum allowed size for uploaded files.
upload_max_filesize = 64M
max_input_vars = 5000

but the system status keeps on showing me 1000 instead of 5000

For all other parameters I have the correct numbers after changing.

As a matter of fact, I already talked many times with the hosting provider and they made all sorts of checks, even with deactivate all plugins, like I did now but still do not save. The php version I am using is 7.0. I did not add any custom code or at least I do not remember (can you make an example to me of a custom code I might have written?).
You ask me to switch to the main theme from a child. I am currently using lifestyle theme. Is that a child theme? And in case I do it, will I lose all my job? Or is there anything to switch safely? Sorry for my doubt. I am just a passionate beginner and so I am not so professional.
Is there a way you could check it fast for me and find the solution. The theme panel just stop saving after I change something in the home page… I took out a grid that also had a witing “You should put some html…” or something like that.

Nerissa

Hello!
Now, thanks to Namecheap, all lights in the system status are green and the max_input_vars is 5000. However the theme is not saving and when I press on save it actually says that it is saved but there is no move on the top of the window; I mean it does not turn around like normally whenever you change page or save anything.
Please solve this issue. You still have my login and pw for WP.

Nerissa

Hi,

@MinHs
In almost all cases this issue is caused by the following:

Could be caused by insufficient resources
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
In this case the hosting provider should be able to increase them.

Or it could be a security setting, module or firewall, as in this case where the theme panel was not saving any settings
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/cant-save-theme-options-2/
The admin ajax could be blocked by the server and the theme cannot access it. Check in the browser inspector console to see if this is the case. If it is, try to find the security settings or firewall settings in the cPanel settings and change them. The hosting provider should be able to help with this task.

Also if you use Wordfence try to set it on learning more
https://www.wordfence.com/help/firewall/learning-mode/

If you already checked or tried these, we could take a look. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, also cPanel or FTP if possible. Please include a link to this topic in the email.

Thanks

Hi,

We could take a look as well if you still have a problem with saving in the theme panel. Usually it’s one of the cases mentioned above where the theme does not have access to the admin ajax on the server. This cannot be fixed from our side, but we could take a look to see what is happening.

Please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login as well as cPanel if possible. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Thanks
