Thumbnail resize issue

Hello,

I posted this in the comment section of themeforest for this theme and was told to post here for more help.

All I’m trying to do is have my features image correctly resize instead of crop on the megamenu and other modules so that at least the text part of it is in view.

The text part is on the left hand side of the image. Ideally, I don’t want any cropping at all.

How can I achieve this?

Hi,

All the theme modules have a specific thumbnail size that they will use, including the module used for the mega-menu
https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
The theme will always crop the images, they will be cropped center top
https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image/

Maybe you can consider using a cloud header template
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Headers
Using a cloud header there are options for the mega-menu for the images, so you can load a bigger thumbnail and adjust it – http://prntscr.com/nrabgchttp://prntscr.com/nrab81

In pages you can use flex blocks and flex grids, these have the same options for the images, so you can adjust them there as well if needed. As opposed to predefined blocks the flex blocks have many settings in terms of layout, we created some designs here (these can be imported with the cloud library plugin) – https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Blocks

As a note, please don’t bump the post. This will only refresh the topic date and move it to the back of the line. We reply from oldest to newest at all times.

Thanks

But the theme crops the image this way because it’s coded to do so, correct?

So if I had custom development done on the theme to remove or change that code, this could be a solution as well, correct?

Everytime I try using a cloud template for anything the CSS always comes in broken.

Also, how do I get rid of latest articles like at the bottom of my homepage http://www.vettoc.com so that I can use a different module to load better thumbnail sizes?

Keep in mind, I’m using the Bakery page/post editor not themediv editor. Is this an issue?

I was playing around with the cloud header templates and your suggestion, but the other headers still crop the images too much.

Question – I am trying to use this header because I really like it:
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/header-template-27/?edit_url=null

1.) How do I change the turquoise colored area to another color? The part that says “Express delivery etc. etc.” I can change the text but I can’t figure out how to change the actual color of it.

1.1) As a side inquiry – how can you remove that part of the header altogether and replace it with a small shadow to give the header an accent?

2.) How can I add a solid background color to the top menu header part where it says “contact us, work with us..etc.etc” I want to make the entire top header (full width of the site) red and the text/social icons white.

Last question (I didn’t want to open individual threads for each question):

1.) If you go to my site http://www.vettoc.com, I am using the Header 27 specified in the previous response, why can’t I edit the sticky menu? There’s no option to edit it in tagdiv. If you scroll down you can see it’s still showing the demo logo/button.

To recap, there are a total of 5 questions here remaining in this thread between the previous 3 posts.

Thanks!

That will be the case, the way the images are cropped is defined in the code. The file responsible is here – http://prntscr.com/nru8zx but note that modifications to plugin files will be lost after a theme update, when the plugins are updated.

The latest articles section is provided by the page template used, if you don’t want it there change the page template – https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates-2/

Without the tagDiv composer cloud templates will not be possible. They are available exclusively for our composer.
It isn’t an issue if you use WPBakery, but there could be problems if you edit pages built with WPBakery with the composer, or the other way around. Not all elements work with both builders.

1. That is a background color set on a row, you can chnage it as needed
http://prntscr.com/nrudcc

1.1 There are shadow settings for rows, and also gradients, in the same CSS tab
http://prntscr.com/nrue4o

2. Rows, columns and most elements have settings to set a background color
http://prntscr.com/nruf0mhttp://prntscr.com/nruf63http://prntscr.com/nrufbx

1. You can activate the sticky mode in the composer and modify it as needed
http://prntscr.com/nrug8o

Wow, thank you so much for all of the help! All of your screenshots helped me set it up the way I needed without having to modify the templates code 🙂

One last question though (hopefully) – on my main homepage http://www.vettoc.com I am using two “Hover Box” modules and I placed two images in them to get that effect (I like the flipping animation). I don’t see a way to replicate this in tagdiv (I’m redoing the homepage in your tagdiv editor as opposed to using bakery).

Glad it helped. An exact replica of that WPBakery element does not exist in the composer. You could try the image info box element – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_crypto/image-info-box/
Or maybe the title over image element – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_crypto/title-over-image/

I’ll try the infobox element with the images I have up currently and see how that goes.

Do you think that maybe you can give me some quick feedback on how the menu came out on my site? ?

Thank you again for all of your help!

The info box would indeed be similar to the hover box, not quite the same but similar. The header looks quite nice at the moment, good work and glad I could help.
