Can I translate EVERYTHING in this theme with wpml? I mean not only posts but everything in this theme.
Which plugins do you suggest and is the most compatible with this theme for caching and performance?

Hello!
You cannot translate the theme panel. You can translate content and pages if you want.
For caching we recommend using wp-super cache: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/

Hello!
There are plenty of users that use Newspaper Theme with WPML and they have great results. It is not a teste plugin but our team is working in having it a covered plugin, so in the future WPML should be tested an available. I recommend to use WPML.
