Two Questions: Images and Newsletter

Hi,

My website is http://www.supergeekreview.com

I’m wondering two things. First, what’s the max dimensions for photos in posts? For example, 650px x 300px. Also, what are the dimensions for Featured Photos?

Next, I’m curious about how to put the Newsletter subscription in the footer of my website.

I’ve already made a page where users may subscribe to my newsletter, which can be found here: http://www.supergeekreview.com/subscribe

However, I think it would be more effective to just have a place where they can just input their email in the footer. The drag-and-drop function for Tagdiv newsletter doesn’t work on the footer though. Suggestions?

Sorry in advance if these questions were already asked.

Thanks!

Hi,

You should use images bigger than the required thumbnail sizes for good results
https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
The theme will create thumbnails from the images you set as featured, these will be used in various elements.

They will be cropped by center top – https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image/
So the results will be different depending on what aspect ratio the image has and module used
https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-vs-featured-image-size/

So basically you can use bigger images as featured, only thumbnails from them will be used, this will not cause problems with performance by loading the full size of the images.

If the thumbs are not created properly, please check if the GD library PHP extension is enabled on the server

Please let us know if you have more questions.

Thanks

Hi Simion,

Thanks! Very helpful. Any advice on getting the newsletter in the footer?

Hello marshallgunnell,

Did you have tried the Footer page functionality? Create a new page when you should add the Newsletter and then, add it to a footer page from panel.

Thanks.

Here’s the issue I’m currently facing:

The images on the blogs I post look fine. However I like to put a 1px border around my images, which I do using ScreenPresso. Still, everything looks fine.

However, on the Featured Image on the post page, the bottom of the border is cut off, making the image look weird. Here’s an example:

As you can see, the bottom border is cut off. It’s not really a problem if the image contains a lot of color, but in this case it doesn’t.

So I’m wondering what the EXACT image size needs to be to have the entire featured image set in place with my borders, but without leaving blank space in my thumbnails.
