Hello team! I got the latest update (Newspaper 8) and tried installing it on my WordPress blog but got the following error message: Destination folder already exists. /home/wetraja6/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/
Please advice.
Seems like you over-writing the core files of theme. Try taking backup of theme and removing the theme. And re-installing the Newspaper 8 theme then. Do let me know what’s the site. I have not got the theme myself yet.
Uninstalling/re-installing theme will mess my blog setup! Will await word from support.

FTP is the safest way to update the theme. Please create a back-up beforehand though.

My major concern is about the setup. Once I update the theme, I will end up losing all settings on the blog. How can I update without messing up my blog design?
I think you need to take screenshots of every single one of your settings and then reenter them after the update.
Every new theme update is like an headache for those who have the theme with custom settings and custom code.
My advice to you is to document every single setting and code changes, so you can remake them once you update the theme.
So I took screenshots of all my settings, deleted v7 and upgraded to v8, and all my settings were still intact, so far no issues.
