I am unable to update my theme, when I view the update dashboard WP says all my themes are up to date but the themes panel tells me I’m sing Newspaper version 4, so it’s absolutely not up to date.
Please help asap.
I have the latest theme file (newspaper 7, legally from a purchase of course) – can I use that to update without losing all data?

I don’t understand what you are saying, Bogdan. I know that I have Newspaper 4 installed and activated on my site. I need to update it to Newspaper 7, how do I do that?

If you have newspaper 4, then the you will have to update via ftp. Delete your current theme and then do a clean install of newspaper 7 You install it just like installing a totally new theme because there is no way to update from the old version of the theme. Simply delete newspaper 4 from your install, then install newspaper 7 and run the update script from here: https://www.screencast.com/t/hihjLTqM

I copied the site to staging (testing) environment and followed your instructions. The theme is now updated to version 7 but the frontpage is broken and not at all including the styles/data/customization from the old theme. Is it not possible to keep these settings during the update process?

I’m updating from version 4.6.2 to 7.5. The script that you asked me to run showed information like it was trying to update from 4 to 6 – is that a typo or the wrong script?

Bogdan, can you please review my last question and reply?
Unfortunately updating from a very old version such as newspaper 4 will need some elements to be recreated. the sidebar implementation was changed, some elements from the old theme were removed, some elements were added and so on. You will have to re-create your pages in visual composer. The post templates, the header styles, the footer styles, they will all be different as they have been changed over the years. Sorry for the inconvenience but updating from such an old version will require a bit of extra work to do as it will not be a smooth update such as updating from version 6+ to 7+

I do not understand how you put the selling themes that are in old and outdated versions.
I bought your theme yesterday, if I knew I had to make so many changes (which I do not even know where to start) I certainly would not buy difficulties.
There is no updated version of its theme?
In my Envato account only appears old/outdated versions, and not exist ZIP folder called Newspaper-tf.
