Update issues : Social counter display, Green ligne & Cache

Following the 2 latest updates, my website encountered the following issues:

– The social media counter isn’t displaying the logos and the text inside the social media boxes had to be manually centered because it would go too far up by default. It used to look like this.
– There is a big green line on the top of the website, with an arrow on the left corner. Previously, there was a partial line like on the Newspaper Magazine demo. Can the big line be removed? My website used to look like this.

Any help to fix these issues would be appreciated, I wasn’t successful so far unfortunately.

The last thing that has been occurring lately is that recent edits to the website can’t be seen for people who aren’t logged in before some time or before clearing the cache. I haven’t made any significant change to the website (before these updates) so not sure what could be the issue unless a plugin was updated as is acting differently.

Thank you very much.

PS: I also already sent this to contact@tagdiv.com.

Hi,

Please make sure that you are using the last version of the theme, V9.7.4 and is is install/update according to our guide -> https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/

Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict with untested plugins, please deactivate all non theme, also if you are using child theme, clear all cache and try again.

Please make sure that all the settings are like in our requirements, please follow the guide carefully
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
and please increase all requirements that are lower, and follow all steps.

Also your screenshot is not longer working -> https://www.screencast.com/t/MupzqMXT3gvT
If there is still some problems, please provide some more details about this problem.

Thank you!

Thank you for your reply. Everything is up to date but the problems persist (big green line on top of header, with an arrow + no social media icon in the social counter).

In addition to that, it seems now that clicking on a picture from a gallery (the one with the columns) creates displaying issues. Whereas in the past, we used to be able to enlarge them.

Any help would be appreciated! The screenshots are working on my end.

I just also realized that the style of some quote is now off as well… If I don’t find a solution soon, I think I will just revert back to the 9.7.2 version of the theme as I didn’t have any issues with the theme for the last 4 years before the 2 latest updates.

This ticket can be closed. I reinstalled an older version of the theme and all went back to normal. I’ll have to pause on any future updates as this one was a bit chaotic and the support wasn’t very useful unfortunately.

Hi,

Since Newspaper v9.7 was made some major changes in the theme core and you want to try the new update of the theme, we recommend to do it on localhost or on sub-domain, not on the live website, in this way you can check if the layout and functionality are all good and only after that you can make the update properly.

Thank you for your understanding and sorry for the inconvenience!
