update newspaper

I purchased newspaper last week and then received an email (Sept 21) asking me to update newspaper. In the past, I would just update all plugins and themes from my WP dashboard. I am reading through all the docs and forum info on updating this theme trying to figure this out. There has to be a much simpler way to do this. What am I missing?

See the update instructions in the theme docs, right side of page.

ThemeForest themes are not part of the WordPress repository, so they generally need to be updated manually, typically via FTP is best way.

Also some great tutorials online for how to update WordPress themes.

Make sure you backup the files and the database, in case something goes wrong with the server you could use the backup to revert to the previous state. For more information on how to backup check the official documentation: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
