We updated the theme due to problems with google structure date. The analysis was retrieving a few errors due to an algorithm change so we had to fix them. We also included a new version of visual composer and revolution slider. You can see the change log here: http://tagdiv.com/newspaper-6-6-update/
As for the css, you can replace the files and leave out style.css. Only the theme version was changed in this file. You can update without style.css.

You can see a list of modified files from 6.6.2 to 6.6.3 here: http://screencast.com/t/U0JKaAJaHIK The patch can be found in the main archive of the theme.
This patch only replaces the files needed for the new update. The only file you can skip in here is style.css as there were no modifications to it other than the theme version number. The other files you need for the update to work. If you have any changes to these files and you need the update, you will have to recreate your changes.

You can keep the style.css you have now. Do not replace your style.css with the new one as the new one did not change anything besides version number. There will be no data loss if you do not replace style.css.

Google News will someimtes not capture image — even if in sitemap, and in post. This is sometimes due to the image looking too much like a logo or advert/banner vs a “photo” — (seems they scan for “number of colors”) — and sometimes they hiccup if you have a mega menu or “too many images before the post image” — and, they sometimes have issue with large background images outside post, vs being “in the post” itself. This is common issue.
They may ALSO skip an image if they have already captured image with identical name multiple times (like “mylogo.jpg” – so unique post image name for Google News important (we use date based images here).
Not theme related — but content/layout related. So you need to tweak that if they are skipping all your pix. If only skipping one out of ten randomly. This is normal, with the triggers I’ve noted above.
We’ve been in Google News since it launched in beta more than 10 years ago, hence my experience on a daily basis across our news network with this issue.
Yep … that’s what happens. They can randomly skip images based on the actual content, file name, etc.
One “trick” we do here, is go back to the post where the image was skipped, add/change ONE word in headline (not the slug/URL!!) and then update the post. If it’s still in your Google News sitemap, they “normally” will recapture and often get image on the update.
So, I am in the habit of checking posts regularly in case they just skip stuff.
Weird thing is, sometimes they show the image in our “site:name” search but then not in the search by the topic in the story. Implies some bug in “display” of image they have actually in fact captured. SO they have it, just not always showing it. I have 2 items today with this issue.

If you read my notes – you can’t 100% “solve” issue of Google skipping images; their system cannot “always” capture image. Period. That was the point of my comments and information in my posts. Sorry nothing else you can do but address the elements I’ve noted in my comments in this thread. Good luck.

a) you need to experiment with your layout, image size, location, file name
b) even with all that, Google may skip an image
c) you can try to get them to recapture by changing a word in headline and resave/republish while story is still in the Google News sitemap (you are using a GN sitemap, right?)

Ensure that a robots.txt file isn’t blocking our access to your images.
Please keep in mind that in order to show as many different sources to our users as possible, we sometimes pair relevant images with articles from different sources.
While we can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to include all your images, these suggestions will increase the likelihood of the inclusion of your images in Google News.

As noted on the google page i linked to, they may use image from ither story.
Try unblocking directiry and see if it helps.ndont block any directory where you phitos are. Sorry typing on my ipad ?

The problem with google news is exactly as Chris said in the above posts. The problem fixed was related to errors in the google structure data analysis. The update does not provide a fix for google news issues, nor does it cause these issues.
