Hi, I’m updating my WordPress.
I updated it to a new version, and I’m following the steps to update the theme.
I saw that in one of the steps, you need to change the theme, delete the Newspapper theme, and then install the new theme and activate.
But, and the settings I made in the theme, will be lost? Or are they stored in the Database, and will they be re-accessed when the updated theme is installed?
If I made modifications to the theme files, do I need to redo the settings again?

First, as mentioned in the theme update guide make a backup of the website

The theme panel settings including custom code used in the theme panel will not be lost. These are all saved in the database together with your website content.
If you made modifications to the theme files directly these will be lost as you are removing the old theme and installing the new one.
You could consider using a child theme if you want to customize the theme files, these are all the supported files
