Update Theme & Visual Composer

Hi,
1. We have currently the Newspaper installed version 4.6.1 and I see that there is a 4.6.3 available. How do we update our theme (we are not being asked to update on our WordPress site).
2. We have Visual Composer Version 4.4.4 installed. I see there is a 4.6 available. I’ve tried updating by not having any success.

Please can you help.

Hi,

Not sure what you mean. The latest version of the theme is 6.2.1 and it should be regarded like a new theme, it was practically rewritten. Please note that if you update the custom modifications to the theme files and custom css will not work anymore, you will have to customize them again. Here you can find a guide how to update from version 4 – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ (please make sure that you do a clean update, remove the old theme) also update the plugins that come with the theme files from the /plugin folder. Then you will have to run the script like it is specified in the documentation and re-add your widgets in the sidebar(s). Before update please backup the site (database and files) – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups

If you want to remain on version 4 (4.6.3 is the last update in that version) you can find this in /old_version folder from the package that you download from themeforest – http://screencast.com/t/f8gCkpnrM7 and also if you delete the Visual Composer plugin it will appear a message to install it or if you want to do this manually you can find it following this path – http://screencast.com/t/rg3Ed6DyGckW
