Hi TagDiv Support Team,
after installing the latest TagDiv update, all of my theme settings have been completely wiped out.
My header, footer, and every single design setting stored in the theme are gone. Even the registration and TagDiv-related plugins were reset to zero. It looks like everything connected to TagDiv has been erased.
I’ve managed to manually recreate a basic header and footer for now, but it’s impossible to rebuild all the individual details from scratch.
Can you please explain what happened and, more importantly, how I can restore my previous theme configuration?
Are there backups or recovery options available from the TagDiv Cloud, Theme Panel, or database that would help me recover my lost settings?
This issue is extremely frustrating and has caused a major disruption. I urgently need your assistance to get the site back to its previous state.
Thank you in advance for your quick support.
Best regards,
Hi,
We’re really sorry to hear about the situation you’re facing.
In cases like this, we recommend restoring a backup made before updating the theme:

Also, the Theme Panel has a backup system that can be used to restore your settings. However, in your case, since changes were made in the Theme Panel after the update, the backup you need might no longer be available: https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-export-theme-settings/
Sometimes, the automatic theme update can be affected by other factors, such as an extra plugin, specific settings on your host, or a custom .htaccess file. In similar situations, the theme was updated, but the theme plugins needed to be manually installed or updated from Newspaper > Plugins.
If the Theme Panel settings are already lost after a theme update, we recommend not making any new changes in the panel. Instead, try to restore a theme panel backup made before the update.
If none of the above solutions can be used at this point, we suggest contacting your hosting provider and asking if they can restore a backup of your website. Most hosting companies keep daily backups and may be able to help.
I had the same problem and I contact my hosting provide to restore a backup of my website. After tried to install last update my header and footer have lost my edits. Now with the restore i resolved but for now i don’t update the theme. Any suggestions? thank you
Hi Davidpinto,
Did you check if the theme plugins were updated after the theme itself was updated? It’s possible that only the theme was updated, but the previous theme plugins weren’t.
In these situations, you should go to Newspaper > Plugins and install or update the theme plugins you’re using on your website.
Thank you!
