Url of mobile site

Hi, I’ve created a new homepage. I also created a mobile version.

The mobile version looks good on mobile.

However, the theme gives the mobile version it’s own url. And when I visit that url on my desktop, the page looks odd.

Also: the mobile version doesn’t need it’s own url, right? Because it’s the homepage.

Here is the mobile url: https://www.fuckdiestudieschuld.nl/fuck-die-studieschuld-mobile/

Can I somehow change this so that this page doesn’t show up? This mobile url isn’t even used on mobile so I don’t see why it should exist.

Thanks!

Hello!

Please access your dashboard in Pages and search this page and delete it or you can change the url there. This is a desktop page and not a mobile one.

Thank you!

Hmm, I’m not sure I understand.

This is the page that loads as the homepage on mobile. So deleting it will delete the mobile homepage too, I suppose?

See here.

(I created this separate one because the homepage I made looked very bad on mobile. Somehow it wasn’t responsive at all.)

Or is there a way to make the homepage to look good on mobile? While using the same template as the desktop one?

Hello!

You can filter the pages like this: https://www.screencast.com/t/yaRS06VD7ENy and you will see your mobile pages. Then, delete the page normally.
Let me explain you which options of mobile versions are:

1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website is looking similar like on desktop, edit the page with TagDiv Composer, click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB ; there you can see your mobile version and you can edit the elements there.

2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/

3. Mobile theme plugin: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

A full explanation you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY

Thank you!

I tried to use option 1. However, for this particular page, I can’t get it to work.

For the other pages, the responsive mobile page looked rather good to start. For this one, it looks all wonky.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Hello!

Please provide more information, screenshots about your issue(” For this one, it looks all wonky.” for which one?) in order to help you.

A solution for sending a screenshot is this:
Download, capture, send: https://www.techsmith.com/jing-tool.html
After making the screenshot, you will have a link, paste it here.

Thank you!

Hi!

I managed to fix a lot of the wonky things by adding new elements for mobile and then to hide the elements for desktop, and vice versa. (Is that a good way to do this?)

There is a wonky thing left, though.

It’s the box for the email address.

It’s supposed to look like this: https://ibb.co/LtyQ1vz

On desktop it’s fine, on mobile it’s wonky. Same element. I didn’t change anything for mobile here.

Thanks!

Hi maaikewind, I can say that this can be an work around, but I think that it was easer if you used the mobile page https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/ and this way the desktop and mobile pages and cloud templates had only the necessary elements.
Now about the box for the email address, that it looks like this https://i.imgur.com/JCWRpfq.png and this is normal, it is the responsive version for mobile, it is a little different then desktop version because was adapted to the small screens.
Thank you!

Thanks for your reply!

Two follow-up questions, if that is OK.

#1 If I use a mobile page, that page becomes available for desktop too. It gets a separate url, which can be reached from everywhere. I do not like that. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

#2 About the box for the email address, I don’t understand why it looks normal to you. Check this image, I’ve pointed to the problem with blue arrows.

In your image the box looks fine. However, if I check the site on my mobile (so my actual mobile, not just shrinking the page on desktop) it still looks wonky.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Oh, and an update: the left site of the border isn’t correct either. It’s a bit rounded. It should be not rounded at all.

So indeed, your screenshot is perfect. But where did you see that? On an actual mobile device?

Because if I visit my site on my iPhone 12 it looks wonky.

Hi,
1. This is strange, the mobile page should be display only on mobile and table. Indeed this has a different link that can be accessed fi you are logged and it should display the responsive version, but the visitors should not have access to that link.

2. I just checked again the borders for email address (on mobile with android) and for me all of them from our website are ok https://i.imgur.com/p6txLzV.png
Unfortunately, I do not have an iPhone 12 to check it, but I will try to find a colleague that has.
Thank you!

Thanks for your reply.

1. So the link is only accessible by me when I’m logged in?

2. Did you find someone with an iPhone? I still have the same issue. (Also had it on my old iPhone 7, by the way.)

Thanks again!

Hi,
Yes, the mobile page link will be accessible only for admin and editor, those can edit the mobile page, for visitors will be display the link from desktop.
I asked a friend with iPhone 12, but he said that for him everything seems normal. If the problem is on iPhone 7 I will try to find someone with that iPhone version.
Thank you!

Ah, thank you.

And I don’t think the problem occurs only on iPhone 7 since I seem to have the problems on all iPhones.

I just don’t understand. I’m not logged in on my iPhone. I just visit the site. How could that go wrong? And it always happens, on my old phone, on my new phone.
