we are in high need to use the post format “video” with our own player from brid.tv and external codes from glomex.com. I have tried to find some informations for this within the documentation of the theme. But it looks like, that it officially only supports links from youtube (a.s.o).
Is there any way to make your predesigned post-templates work with video codes and script-codes for videos? All codes we would use are fully responsive. The only thing I would need to know is, how we can make the theme recognize those codes and fill it into the right place. Video thumbnails could be inserted automatically as featured images…
This would be very very important or us.

So you are referring to the featured video. The featured video supports videos from the sources mentioned in the guide

I can’t say if adding another player would work or not, or what exactly has to be modified and where. We haven’t made any testing with the player you mention unfortunately, or other players.

and thank you for your fast answer to my question. This indeed is bad news for us. This theme nearly perfectly fits our needs – unless this one (most important) thing. The ability of monetizing a site through pre-roll video ads is the most important option for the future. Even for a magazine or newspaper site.
We of course are able to insert videos into posts and pages with the newspaper theme. But it just doesn’t look that sexy, when not able to fit it into the right places – and not able to see those posts in video playlists – and all that stuff!
There must be a workaround to make this possible. I am not a coder – so I would not be able to do this. Of course I could ask for a freelancer to make this possible for us. But I think, that this could harm other functions, if it’s not done by the original team. And as I think, that this would be a groundbreaking feature for the whole TagDiv-Community – why not just asking for it here?
The thing is, that I really (to be honest) went away one year ago – to another theme creator – just for having these features. So I had this feature – but the rest was crap. So I came back one week ago – the rest is fine again – but most of our videos are gone. This is a real nightmare for us. A lot of work to do, to fill them manually back in – into the content.
But this cannot be the final solution. I don’t want another theme, and I don’t want to install dozens of plugins, to make one quite simple thing running as it should …
Of course the TagDiv-Team does not have to do this for free …

I understand your problem, if it were something simple I would try to help you. Or if we had a dedicated theme modification or customization department that could assist in such tasks. But as it is we really can’t provide custom solutions, there is simply no time. Sorry for the inconvenience.
The developer team is always working on implementing new features in the theme, composer, cloud library, improving the theme etc. We have to be careful with what new features are implemented in the theme, decide what is needed most, find the best method and also do it in a way that it will not cause a major impact performance wise.
What I can do would be to add a request on our list to be considered in the future. However I can’t promise anything unfortunately.

I of course do understand, that running processes need to be done. But the thing with custom work – is a long requested discussion on this board. So I also understand, that it’s simply not a wanted part of TagDiv. As other companies are always able to do custom work – just because it’s good money for them – the can be sure, that no nonsense will be done with their themes, and they are having a good payed testdrive for future implementations, which they even got payed for … It’s a kind of a internal political question.
So I will need to hire a freelancer to do this for us. But it’s not what I wanted. For example the Soledad-Team had rebuilt a festure, which I missed from your theme. They have got about 350 dollars from us for this. The next theme update included this feature. Just because it was there – and it was good …
They simply were not able to build homepage blocks from tags – they only used posts. That was a long awaitd feature for the community.
However: I sure do understand, that there is a current timezone in which it is not possible to do sch things. But I do not understand, why this is the case for years now. The newspaper theme is one of the most complex theme on the themeforest market. So I am not willing to believe, that a company, who built such a complex theme, would not be able to fulfill a request within a few weeks, where a freelancer can do this job within a few days …
We have chosen this theme (again) as it’s maybe the most professional designed piece of code on the market. As we are not a blog, but a good running (growing) online magazine, it’s most important for us to stay flexible and open minded – but all this within a stable theme-solution.

There is one question left for right now: is Tagdiv aware of all the chnges, that will come, when wordpress will include the Gutenberg editor as the new primary editor including all benefits and changes?

Tests are being made and will be made to ensure that there will be no problem with the new WordPress update and it’s editor.
If by chance something is overlooked or various issues will be identified after the release, we will fix them as soon as possible.
