Hi!
I am using Block 13 and I would like to have excerpts visible all times. This should be easy and simple. It’s not a problem if the block is on the main news flow (1/2), but if I insert the block on a side column (1/2 inside of a 1/2), the excerpt not only vanishes but as well it starts using td_module_mx3 instead of td_module_14 as ususal. I guess I can go ahead and change add the exerpt on the td_module_mx3 but why on earth does this happen?
Thanks in advance!
Ok, it did not work neither to change the td_module_mx3.php…
This is really frustrating. Check the images:
* http://www.screencast.com/t/tZ7OmFg5d and http://www.screencast.com/t/Id9fDTlbq that are the same page (back end and fron end). When the block 13 is there, no excerpt is shown.
* If I move the block to another bigger container – http://www.screencast.com/t/TMcXPPjgaP – the excerpt will be seen

Hi,
I have also checked this and it should work, try to copy this code from module mx7 for example – http://screencast.com/t/oPNVgUTEvG and replace this in module mx3(add also a value to limit the excerpt) – http://screencast.com/t/CMYwCaqPF
The result should be – http://screencast.com/t/lRbQfCdK8CM also you will have to inspect and customize it via css to look fine. We would have gladly made it for you but for the moment we cannot offer custom work, sorry!
Thanks!
Well, this is very frustrating. I have strictly followed your instructions and placed the edited file on the mywebsite.com/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/includes/modules. Did not work. I decided then to do something not recomendable – which I do not like but it works – which was to replace the file on it’s original folder. It worked then. What can possibly be causing this odd behaviour?
Just want to point that the child theme is activated. Also, where can I change the value of the excerpt limit? I don’t see it in the code…

Hi,
Please make sure that you use the latest child theme version, it should be at least 6.3 version, from this version you can overwrite the modules, headers… please check documentation – https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/ If you need to update it, you can find it in the /code folder – https://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/
Thanks!
Well, problem solved! 😀 The issue was exactly what you pointed out: theme version. I updated, installed the child theme and now it works flawless! FINALLY!!
Thanks so much! 🙂
