Hello all!
I’m hoping to be helped by either resident Tag Div support or forum contributor that has already found a work around.
Here’s my problem:
The newspaper weather module pulls data from “http://openweathermap.org/find” according to “City”,”Country”
Unfortunately for my city… there is more prominent city in USA with the same name. I used our zip code for some time and it seemed to work fine but now openweather.org is yielding a country on the other side of the globe.
I really like how the weather appears in top header bar and like the widget as well. Is there a way I can hardcode the cityid for my city given by openweather?
Do I have any options? Openweather has my city… I just can’t access it via the City, Country query.
thanks in advance for any help with this matter!
Hello elmer.harris,
Please be more specific when you add your location in our Weather Widget. For example, you should try to add your City,Location zone or Area. If you need more assistance in this regard, please tell us where is your real location, where you are situated so we can try to do this on our side.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi Catalin,
My location is Dayton, Tennessee, USA
What should I put and where should I put it to get the correct readout?
thanks in advance for any help,
Elmer
Hello elmer.harris,
For more information about our Weather Widget, please consult the documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/weather-widget/ Notice that you should insert your location here -> http://screencast.com/t/EF6LiOQsj directly from your front-end.
Thanks for your understanding!
Catalin,
Thanks for your help. It looks like spelling out “Dayton, Tennessee, USA” is the way to go. I believe I was abbreviating the state which causing the issue.
Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks again,
Elmer
