Good sunday to everyone!
I just saw that the images in my frontpage are showing in jpg/png instead in webp. Why? I don’t know.
I saw in the inspector on Google Chrome that the style backgroud-image call to url with file jpg/png.
The class is entry-thung td-thumb-css tdi_34.

If you would like to see more about the frontpage, you can see http://www.redesbinarias.com
In each page post appears well in format webp.

Best regards,
Sergio

Hi Calin,
sorry but this link don’t help me.
In all site, when Imagify or WP-Rocket find a src, href, srcset and content create a <picture> calling a webp image.
Well.
In the frontpage I am using “flex block 5”, “flex block 1″, etc…
I saw that in these modules, the imagess don’t serve in format webp due the image are served inside a class=”entry-thumb td-thumb-css tdi_34” and style”background-image: url(“path to .png/.jpg)”.

I can’t found to rewrite or change this url to .jpg.webp or .png.webp.
On the other hand, in the articles, works fine.
Is only inside the class and style.

I hope you can help me.
Best regards,
Sergio

Hello,

please check if Imagify plugin has a lazy load option, also Wp-Rocket, please enable it and check after the images on modules

Thank you!

Hi AnaMaria,
I verify that in WP-Rocket Lazy load option is enabled and in the theme Newspaper. In imagify I don’t found this option.

On the other hand, the issue continue. If you need to test, feel free to access to frontpage http://www.redebinarias.com and you will see that I tell you.

Best regards,
Sergio

Hi,

We also used this plugin -> Ewww-image-optimizer to optimize the images, and they were also displayed on blocks.
Also, I will investigate some more settings and I will let you know the result.

Thank you!

HI AnaMaria,
I use Imagify and WP-Rocket. As CDN I’m using Bunny.
I tried to disable all except the serve images as webP from imagify but the issue persist.
If you need that I colaborate in something, please feel free to tell me.
Best regards,
Sergio

Hi Sergio & Stu

Unfortunately WP Rocket doesn’t touch background images. It only serves webP images for images with attributes ‘href’, ‘src’, ‘srcset’ and ‘content’. And you can add further attibutes using their ‘Add WebP Target Attribute’ plugin.

I have raised this problem with WP Rocket and it’s on their todo list.

Cheers,

Hello!

You can convert the images into webp extension and upload them in Media Library.

Thank you!
