Hi,
I read your manual about websitespeed: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
And i thought i could get more speed if i fix the blocking javascript and css styles above the fold.
But i tried the steps in your manual, but there is nothing changing. The js and css styles are still slowing down my website.
Could you please help me? My website is very very slow!

Hello,
Page speed is a very personal thing and can depend on lots of variables starting from the host and all the way down to the plugins that you use. Plugins play a very big role in page speed. so please test it out with all plugins disabled excepot visual composer and wp super cache, clear cache and reset cdn files. Then test again and see if there is any plugin slowing you down.
Based on your pagespeed score you get pretty high scores. You get 87 points on desktop and our demo gets 89. The difference is very small between the 2.
The first load however takes quite a bit of time so unfortuantely there is little you can do from this side as the first load can only be adjusted from the server. Here is an example from drupal: https://www.drupal.org/node/526092
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
Thank you, i asked my host and they were telling me that there are some server issues. They gonna repair it soon.
But i have another question. When i create a smartlist and i press ‘next’ to go to the second or third item of the list, everytime above the item my introduction text is being showed. I only want it be showed on the start of the list (on the first/entry page), not above every item of the list.
Is that possible?
Thank you in advance.
Hi,
Unfortunately content that is left outside the smart list will always be visible. A smart list will slide all of the content inside the h3 or other heading tags you chose for the smart list. Other text is not affected by the smart list so there is no way of hiding the post content on another slide. Sorry.
Thank you!
Hi,
Thank you for your explanation. No problem.
But i have another question for you:
In the settings i have chosen to pick the the related articles by tag.
But when i have two articles with the same tag, they will not show up?
The website is not showing related articles, but both articles have the same tags.
When i pick the related articles by category, there is no problem.
It’s only when i pick them by tags.
How is this possible?

Hello Kingbreak,
What type of version do you are using now? To be sure, first of all, you will have to make a full backup to all your data and then you can try to update it. Regarding on your CSS, you can simply copy and paste from your Custom CSS area and if you have made some customizations through PHP files, you will have to be aware of all of these and which types of PHP file you have made these modifications. Here -> http://screencast.com/t/84E2Rkdn5 you can see what type of PHP files were changed and you can know if it will be overwritten by our latest update or not. Please check the bottom of the page for from this link here -> http://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609
Hope this helps!
Thanks.
Hi,
if you say you modified the theme code, it is possible you did not replace all files when updating to not lose your customization? Please make a back-up of your modification and replace all the theme files and check again. you need to make the update properly. If the problem is still there after a clean update and the theme tested in it;s default state, without other plugins or customization, then you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can investigate this issue. Also include a link to this topic.
Thank you!
Hi,
Please disable all plugins except visual composer clear cache and reset cdn files. This should rule out a plugin conflict. If the problem is still there afterwards, please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can login and inspect the issue. Also include a link to this topic so we can identify you.
Thank you!
Thank you! 🙂
But i have another, more important, question for you. When i visite my website on my mobile phone, he is showing the desktop version most of the time. This version is very slow on mobile devices. I tried the Android webbrowser, Google Chrome app and the Firefox app. All the same…
Very rarely the mobile device is showing the right theme: the mobile theme. This mobile theme is much faster and i want it to be showed every time a user visit my website on his mobile phone.
So the problem is: mobile devices are showing the desktop-version of my website, not the mobile version. How can i fix this problem?
Hello,
This could be a caching issue as when you activate the mobile theme it should not show the responsive version anymore. Please clear all caches including cdn or server cache. Please make sure the mobile theme is enabled and please make sure there are no plugin conflicts that interfere with the mobile theme.
Thank you!
Thank you.
I cleared all caches and i turned off all plugins one by one, but it’s not helping.
At the Android webbrowser it shows the mobile theme, but Google Chrome and Firefox are showing the responsive desktop version.
Is there something else i can do to fix this?
