When I do a new wordpress post and upload the featued image. It is actually creating so many versions of it in my hosting of not needed sizes and taking large amount of space on my hosting account

Each thumb that you have enabled, will create a copy for that images.

Also, WordPress creates thumbs => https://www.screencast.com/t/AMVBOZWto
