I was using a plugin called Simple Author Box with my old wordpress theme.
I recently changed over to Newspaper default PRO theme. Should I remove the Simple Author Box plugin and use the newspaper theme instead? Is there an author box element? Where should I add this author box element so it can be a global default on all posts? Thank you

Yes, I think that you can delete the plugin. You can add the author box in the Single Post Template and it will be for all posts that use that template https://forum.tagdiv.com/design-post-pages-using-cloud-library-templates/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/single-post-shortcodes/
