What happened to the section to edit my home page?!?!?

Please provide more details about the issue, what exactly happened. Try to remember what recent changes were made, or plugin installed. The option to edit the pages should not disappear all of a sudden, something caused this to happen.

I haven’t done anything to the home page since sept 11 when i updated the Big Grid slider.
I installed woocommerce.
and that’s it.
i tried deactivating woocommerce and it still isn’t working.
all i get is the visual composer header and nothing else. i tried clicking on the “add element” and when that opens i try to select an element but nothing happens.
this is a client’s site… so i don’t make too many of the upgrades or updates to it very often because i don’t want it to all of a sudden BREAK the theme (like it just did). So i have no idea what happened or how it happened.

So the Visual composer editor is not working properly. Check the theme system status and see if the server and WordPress parameters are set according to this guide

Deactivate the Visual composer and delete it, then install it again from the theme package

If this does not have any effect, deactivate all plugins except the theme plugins, clear any caching installed and check again.

I deactivated and deleted the old composer and downloaded newspaper 8 but only uploaded the composer from it…not the complete update. and it works again.
