For those who wonder why it’s Newspaper 6 and not Newspaper 5:
At first we started to work on a new version of theme, new features and some tweaks on the design were intended for version 5. In the middle of this project an idea emerged and we decided to pursue another road.
The theme was practically rewritten and because of this we decided to call it Newspaper 6.

Test the theme using Instant WP software (offline) and then keep your site under maintenance and then go for the new theme!

Hello, Now when you select a page template, there are three options:
1) Basic
2) Pagebuilder + latest articles + pgination
3) Pagebuilder + title
The version 6 is a load of crap, sorry, but it’s true, stop trying to be positive about shit and rewarding bad work
1. Less features
2. Over-complicated
3. Video Player won’t work
4. Not compatible with woocommerce
5. Greyed out images what the hell are you smoking? Seriously what kind of idiot is going to spend a fortune to take the best possible pictures and then get them greyed-out… are you nuts or what?

I’m very sorry that you encountered so many issues. Newspaper 6 is a whole new theme that is released for free for all of our existing customers (and it’s the biggest theme we ever made) so an update from 4 to 6 may cause the same issues as switching to another theme (but we did try to maintain compatibility where ever possible). We also ship the old version of the theme that will continue to be supported with security updates and hotfixes.
You can find the old version of the theme: in /old_version folder
Thank you, Radu. Subject wonderful. For example problems with it I did not have. But in the old theme very much a function of the background from the slide. Where the topic has had very not like the gray background in the upper block of news.

I do appreciate that you guys trying to do the very best for your customers I have been with you just over a year now and I bought 4 Newspaper version 4 themes and I need another one. and due to previous updates I was not expecting any changes to the front end or any major issues, and unfortunately I tried to update the most important site first so my mistake here to.
Here is the Problem I could just run a back restore to try and get the old version back but the problem with that option is that I will lose one week of stories.
The other option you suggest gives me a blank site.
Please advice.

how will the support for the old version work? Will there be reminders about updates? I let my programmer set up my site two month ago with child theme and many other features. I can’t change now to version 6, as it would destroy the whole site!

@mvdservices – please backup the current install, send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin and ftp access, we will check the issue and come with a solution.
@dabiathlet – We will include wordpress compatibility and security fixes, the updates will be included in the v6 package.
