Hi, Is possibile to scrivere Classic sidebar widgets for Pages? Actually I see no sidebar displaying on Page. And what if I want to show one column layout, so Page Wide without sidebar for specific Pages?
What if I want to use same cloud template for Pages and Posts? How can i Copy and assign the post template to Page template?
Hi,
You can use the widgets for the sidebar – https://i.imgur.com/2vbC0nh.png – https://i.imgur.com/ub4k0vl.png and for pages, you can indeed create sidebars using tagDiv Composer, select the row and choose a layout with 2, 3 columns – https://i.imgur.com/Y6tCJrr.jpg then just drag the elements from tagDiv Composer in columns where you want to be displayed. – https://i.imgur.com/YVWhdgF.jpg -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/sidebars-tutorial/
You can’t assign a single post template for pages. A workaround can be to save an element or row: https://www.screencast.com/t/kVxpDT9SV in the tagdiv composer, so you can add it on every other page. The saved elements can be seen at the end of the other blocks when you add an element in the tagDiv Composer.
Thank you!
And what if:
– I set a layout without sidebar for all pages in theme panel
– but I want to assign a layout with a sidebar for only one specific page?
Yes but as I have a lot of pages, for majoirity of these pages I want to assign the same sidebar of posts, is it possible? How can I do that?
For posts I am using the cloud template elements, so I would like to keep them for pages as well.
Yes but which template should I use? As you can see from screenshot https://prnt.sc/zU0OT4mP3uFP I have already a cloud template for single post templates, but no template for pages, how can I add the same template or blank template to copy and paste?
Hello,
You can’t apply a global page template, because there are different pages, like account, checkout, contact, etc and those have different elements.
You need to recreate the pages, or import a template for these pages -> https://i.imgur.com/Ju76ACd.png -> https://i.imgur.com/Hpd0JI8.jpg
You can copy and paste with right-click.
Thank you!
How can I save and import template created for posts? Is there a way to save single post and import it for pages or should I copy and paste?
Hi I am still having issues on that.
My need is simple: to have the SAME sidebar for overall pages and posts (I would like to do it with tagdiv elements, but I am not able to do that, can you help?).
– I wanted to duplicate single post template to page template, but I see I can’t apply the page template as GLOBAL? See screenshot: https://prnt.sc/-LruNFsFBuoN
– From Theme Panel I set same layout and same DEFAULT SIDEBAR, but where I set this DEFAULT SIDEBAR? Looks like for posts is overwritten by cloud template and in page there is blank sidebar so I think this DEFAULT SIDEBAR is empty, but where can I edit that? See screenshot: https://prnt.sc/xQHueXdeNEhz
I am bit confused, can you guide me to make same sidebar for pages and posts? If it’s not possible with tagdiv, I want to keep the defauld widget sidebar.
Hi,
You can’t duplicate the single post template to use it for pages. What you have in the screenshot is a template for a page, not a post. You can’t use the page template globally because there are different pages, that do not contain the same information. You can edit the page in the editor, set the editor in code editor -> https://i.imgur.com/FOe7EdU.png -> https://i.imgur.com/hwxxjQt.png copy the code, and paste in a new page in the code editor, to have the same style.
The default sidebar is for standard templates, you can save the row/inner row -> https://i.imgur.com/7wNZT1m.png -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/sidebars-tutorial/ you can create once the sidebar in an inner row after saving, and use it for other templates.
Thank you!
It’s not clear that sorry:
if I have like 100 pages and I want to choose 1 same sidebar for all, is there a way to apply globally or should I edit that for all pages? Because it’s a long work and I think a premium theme like Newspaper should have a way to avoid that.
Last chance could be like wordpress traditional templates, I can keep sidebar widgets, same sidebar for all pages and posts, can you tell me how can I enable widgets instead of tagdivs sidebars for pages and posts?
Hi,
Yes, you need to edit each page. Also, if you want to create the sidebar in Appearance -> Widgets and set the sidebar on pages, or using the tagDiv Composer; using the element from tagDiv Composer, Widget sidebar https://i.imgur.com/e1FPdYU.png -> https://i.imgur.com/q20UCZf.png
Thank you!
That’s not good, there is a feature that is missing in the template, is there a form to fill to ask/sugget bugs and/or new features for the theme?
So what is the use for the page cloud template? For which page will it be used?
Hello,
This is not a bug, and also, this will not be done because, as I said, there are different pages with different content, and you can’t apply a global template. You can duplicate the page if you want and change what you want in it.
It depends on how you create it with tagdiv Composer -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/ and import the design.
Thank you!
Not a bug but a missing feature, as I said I have 300 hunderd pages, with more than 250 that needs the same sidebar and I can’t apply that with Newspaper theme. That’s a fact, so I have to find a feature/solution that Newspaper theme doesn’t have for my case.

Sorry but in the video you sent I see only “saving a sidebar widget”, can you check it maybe you missed to record all screen and you recorded the browser window only? Did you change window after saving the widget?
Or if the recording is correct, I don’t understand what did you want to show…
