Hi,
Received an email to say that Newspaper Theme had been updated and to download latest version.
I did this and applied the latest version of the the Theme via FTP after putting Wp into Maintenance Mode, but afterwards none of my Widgets that have been placed in my Sidebars are displaying anymore.
I have updated all Plugins as documentation stated after Theme version update.
It seems that any change within the Theme Panel breaks the Theme in some way, and this is just the latest thing to go wrong.
Surely I do not have to update all the pages and posts ???

Often with theme updates, the sidebar widgets get reset on the appearance > widgets page as “inactive” and can simply be re-dragged to the location. Kind of a WP issue not a theme issue.
Might not be the issue you’re running into; so apologies if that provides no help at all.

Thank you but it isn’t that as I have reset all the widgets and sidebars. None of the widgets are working anywhere on the site anymore for Categories and Post pages.
I might just change Themes even though I have paid out for this one, but I seem to be spending more time fixing things than actually developing the site.

Did you update from the version 4 or 6 to the latest version?
If you have updated from version 4 of the theme, unfortunately you will have to re-add the widgets to your sidebars, as running the script it will import only the custom sidebars.

No, I started with version 6.32 – only purchased a couple of weeks ago.
I already checked the Widgets and they are all still in the sidebars etc, just not displaying.
It’s very odd.
Looks like I will have to rebuild the site from scratch again and do a fresh install.
All was fine until I overwrote the Theme files with the latest version.

Did you backup your site before update? Try to revert to the previous version and do a clean update via FTP – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ maybe it was an error when uploaded the theme?! I did not found any issues with the new theme version(I also updated on my side – local), widgets are displayed fine.
Also check this only with Visual Composer active, disable all other plugins and clear cache.
Do you have this issue only with widgets? Or also with Theme Panel settings?

I re-uploaded the Theme using via WordPress install (i.e. De-Activated Theme, Installed new version, then Re-activated Theme).
Working okay again now.
