I have a problem with Newspaper theme’s compatibility with Yoast SEO plugin. After the update, the plugin does not detect the links, the number of words in real time, or the alt attributes of the articles. It was working fine before update.
A request to kindly look into this and rectify the same.

Up here you have the path you need to follow in order to find the file that needs to be modified: https://www.screencast.com/t/x8OqTd8kFVX Open it using Notepad++ / Php Storm or any code editor programm and comment that phrase found at the bottom of the file.

I have done as stated by you. Added the phrase on my Cpanel also in theme editor but there is no change.
The problem still remains.

Please make sure that you have cleared your browsers cache (Shift + CTRL + R ) and site cache. Many users reported this bug fixed after clearing their cache. Make sure that you have setup your cache plugin properly as you can see it here :https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/

Do you have to add the phrase including the two slashes // ? Because in my file it is there, but without the two //.
I never used Yoast before so I can’t compare how it has to work.

Just add the slashes, the rest is always there.
But: I have to empty the WP cache every 5 minutes to keep Yoast working, that sucks. Waiting for an update of the newspaper theme.
The theme still does not work with the Yoast plugin when the post uses special templates with smart lists.
Also need to keep emptying the cache after few minutes for Yoast plugin to work
