I think I found the problem in between.

I think it conflicted with a plugin called social stream. After deactivating that one and removing it the icons have been playing my way.

I wanted them white so that’s ideal but OMG I must be blind since I missed that simple setting in the first place. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Since that was actually possible maybe there was a glitch when I synced disqus in the first place. The quest for perfection goes on!

Aha, never thought about it that way. An easy work around is to just leave out the little ones with the number count then and pretend everybody shares to both Pinterest and Google+ from now on 😉

So far – +24h – it have not showed of anything being discussed anywhere where I tried it so that feels kind of like a bummer..

Cause I’d really like to use discuss even for itself being slow loading at times but it’s such a global tool.

I may have solved this. Seems my mega menu picked up the Contact page cause it was a custom link in my menu instead of a direct page link so to speak.

Maybe I jumped of joy a little bit too fast, now there’s a link to our contact page in the far left of the mega menu that fetches our regular news items..

The fact this theme has no separators is one of the main things it appealed to me in the first place and I suspect I’m not alone so please don’t change it!!

Hi I’d like to translate/change more parts of the theme but I couldn’t open the language files locally on my pc when I tried them out. But a fresh test in poedit was no problem so I think I had a local problem. Thanks!

Padding issues on the sides of the full header is fixed with custom css 🙂

Hrm.. tried just now but now it’s actually taking up more space, even so there is a slight 5px? padding on each side when setting the template to 980px fully responsive. What is the exact size of the header to fill it up completely or is there a css tweak I missed?

I already tried that which generated something like a 600x80pxl logo centered in the middle of the header area..

I just changed from Avada (a complete waste of money for a two week slug speed moving horror experience) to Newspaper because of the lack of speed.

Just by making the switch I doubled the speed at Google speed insights. It’s not optimized just yet but rapidly getting there.

However if you’re looking to increase speed in general I’d recommend you to not only stay away from Avada but also from Disqus (which I personally love cause of functionality) cause it really slows down sites no matter what 🙁

In my experience you can’t expect your site being even close to what it looks like today when migrating to a new theme.

Most likely a change initially will send you in to a state of chock but when you’ve overcome that glitch there’s so much you can do.

I.e. myself am using two side bars side by side on my frontpage just using the elements that comes along with the theme together with preassigned customized sidebars and dropping them in to the composer.

With a bit of tweaking I’m thinking you could use the same technique to get the result you’re aiming for and save it as a template in the composer.

Now I hid the forum tab for my users so this issue is not such an emergency code as before. H

owever I’d still really like to know why it ended up like this.
