Thanks for the info! Do you have any support techs (for hire) who can correctly implement the mobile theme app, if it fails to work in my attempts?

Please confirm:
1). Does the AMP plugin work “without” the mobile theme plugin (tagdiv)?
2). What is the recommendation – since mobile does not work with AMP and mobile theme plugins for our website? Will not save, Mobile view is corrupted all pages.
3). What is the recommended setting for the 3 Modal options? my site is defaulted to only the “Disable modal mobile” enabled.

returned to WP dashboard, then returned to Mobile theme in Newspaper, tried AMP (only) box, save, and same thing – cursor spinning, wont update mobile theme.

Went to AMP Test validator, AMP is not on my site??

I realized my Mobile theme setting “Use For” wasnt marked Mobile + AMP so i checked that boxed, saved settings, now the page is “spinning” going on 10 minutes, should i abandon my WP admin to cancel and start over?

Anamaria,
Also – The home page in IOS view is ok, however open any Post, than view in mobile to see corrupted page, header, footer, and no “menu” working (3 dashed lines top left of any page) have disappeared.?

disregard the screenshot showing Google search console indexing (mistake). Here is a screenshot of the mobile view (corrupted)

Incidentally, the previous screenshot shows my mobile theme option – which indicates Moble Header with Mobile menu and search enabled. is it possible these should be disabled?

Anamaria,
please assist this morning if you will.
Yes, I updated to WP ver. 6.4.1 today. My site on mobile (IOS) worked perfectly with just the AMP plugin (google AMP + Newspaper AMP) as recommended in your tutorial.
I installed Newspaper 12.6.2 today. The desktop is fine. Mobile isn’t.
I then deactivated the Mobile Theme Plugin and deleted it.
then I reinstalled the Mobile theme, cleared cache, and as shown by these screenshots something is still wrong in the mobile view for my site besthomegear.com.
If you will please view the site on a mobile device, and offer any suggestions. Header, footer, and scrolling features are corrupted on mobile.
thanks!

Thanks, Anna!
The AMP plugin in theme panel worked well, the Mobile theme app corrupted the mobile pages after clearing cache, and visiting again.
All good,
Kevin

Thx. Since I cannot get any support from WordPress who referred us to tag div, we don’t see any way to “remove cache plugins from the tool bar”?
Please reply with directions on how to accomplish an edit in the wp toolbar and so to avoid the corrupted view while signed in.
Thx again

We Updated PHP to 8.1 at site ground, than updated Tag Div to 12.6 – worked for 3 days, then crashed all my mobile and desktop headers. that update is crap, let’s just call it what it is.
reverted back to the 12.5.1 update and now everything is working fine. you really need to patch the 12.6 update and re-release it after significant testing.
thanks

I updated by PHP to 8.1.23 at siteground, so I’m all set, than update to 12.6 version of your theme with no issues.
my question above was in reference to future updates of tag div theme.

let me rephrase that – How do we know, as users of the Tag Div Newspaper theme, that the version update must be supported by a certain PHP version – in this case 8.0 or higher, and, as it appears many were caught off guard? Do you announce that users must have a PHP version of “blank”?
thanks again

How do you update the PHP version to 8 or 8.1? Is this done within the Tag Div theme panel somewhere? Thanks
Kevin

It worked – All set – and hopefully educational for us all, that modal settings cause the issue…

Thanks again for your support,

Thanks, Anamaria

As I see it to fix the Modal setting issue that is distorting the images loading on my site I can employ one of two options.

Option #1: (As you refer above – Make changes to WP Rocket settings)

All I need to do in the exclude modal images is in the disable box of WP Rocket – copy and paste this exact type: td-modal-image

No other letters or symbols?

Then I save and clear the cache in WP Rocket and that’s it right?

Option #2: Make changes to TagDiv “Post Settings” instead…

See this screenshot. I am paying for WP Rocket Premium to optimize my site in many ways, what if, I make the changes in TagDiv Modal settings instead?

Specifically, I would do this; disable “General Modal Image”, Disable “Modal image on MOBILE, and Disable “Smartlist” modal image. Disable All Three?

Wouldn’t this accomplish the same objective as reconfiguring my WP Rocket settings? Confirming, I really don’t need the modal options enabled to properly run the theme correct?

Thanks again for your prompt response and help!

Thanks again AnaMaria

I installed the Regenerate thumbs plugin, ran it 100% completion on 1318 images, cleared and preloaded cache, and cleared the browser, problem is still there on all static images on the website – you can test again with the above URL to my site.
I received a support response from EWWW who don’t believe its any residual data on their end but had a couple of suggestion (that aren’t clear to me) and seems to think there is something else, theme, or plugin causing Lazy Load to occur simultaneously with WP Rocket? I’m running out of ideas!

Follow up – According to the EWWW support site, there are many references to using their “tools” to cleanup and remove data files. (well a little too late since I deleted the plugin).

My question to the TagDiv experts is, should I reinstall the EWWW plugin temporarily, than follow some protocol to deoptimize all images they compressed? would this be the fix for image issues?
I sent EWWW a WP support request yesterday for suggestions but no reply.

Any other suggestions, instead of reloading the EWWW plugin?

Unfortunately, I deleted the EWWW plugin (which had been deactivated earlier) completely. I cannot reactivate and remove the lazy load function. However, WP Rocket lazy load is enabled.

I have today installed a new Compressed Image plugin called TinyPng. it ran all 1316 images in my library successfully.

However, after doing so, I still am seeing an issue with all the images in posts for my website, and using the Tagdiv theme. The issue can be seen by looking at a sample post/URL this one:
Then hover over the first image in the post of a man driving a lawnmower and click on it. (this is one example, all images have the same issue). If you see what I see, it will look like this error that the “image cannot be loaded” ?

This issue occurs in IOS and Desktop versions of my site; https://besthomegear.com

I am at a loss to understand what we can do to fix it (is it a leftover from something EWWW had imparted?).

I have cleared and preloaded the entire cache in WP Rocket, cleared my browser, and the images still show the same issue in the theme for any of my posts, in IOS or desktop.
Any help from you or your colleagues would b Most Helpful

TagDiv Support,

Need help.

I see now that I have the EWWW optimizer plugin deleted, when you click on any image on any of my pages, you get an error message that says “the image could not be loaded”.

I deleted the EWWW Optimizer plugin, cleared the cache, and pre-loaded it through WP Rocket, then cleared the browser, but still cannot view any images when I click on them, in any posts, except images that link to my affiliates like Amazon…

you can see this occurring on the first image of this post by clicking on man with beard riding cub cadet mower. https://besthomegear.com/best-riding-lawn-mower/

This is occurring on both Mobile and Desktop versions,

Thanks again for your support!

I see now that the EWWW optimizer plugin is disabled, when you click on any image on the page, you get an error message “the image could not be loaded”.

Right now that plugin is “disabled”. If I delete it altogether, then clear the cache will that error message likely disappear?

This is occurring on Mobile and Desktop.

Thanks again
Kevin

Thanks That worked – EWWW disabled, cleared cache, all mobile posts are back to original view!
Apparently, you must know of an issue with compatibility on EWWW and WP Rocket. If so, would it be a good idea to delete the EWWW plugin altogether, and if I do that does WP Rocket offer image optimization?
Otherwise i have a Jetpack subscription, also can “enable” image optimization there as part of the subscription, or perhaps a different image optimization plugin?
