I have the same problem. Fresh WP 4.1, downloaded today:

Installing Plugin WPBakery Visual Composer (1/5)
Downloading install package from /home/wuetrs/public_html/bonfaru.com/wp-content/themes/Newspaper-child/includes/plugins/js_composer.zip…
An error occurred while installing WPBakery Visual Composer: Download failed. A valid URL was not provided..

Need a urgent solution too please. spending 58 bucks and can’t use it…
