I just put WordPress back to 4.9 and it seems to be working ok

Until you find out what the problem is, do you have the previous version which worked, that you can upload for now?

I had the image problem too, but found that updating to v9.2.1 fixed that

I’ve been having the same problem. I’ve updated to the latest update (9.2.1), and this does seem to have sorted it out, but I’m waiting to see how this goes.

There is a problem with the tagdiv mobile plugin. If you deactivate that, you’ll find it works.
