I think I found a workaround with the Text with Image block. But if you have an alternative using the ID it might help me for other work.
Thanks.
I refreshed my memory on enough of the Tag Div functions to get a reasonable layout. But one problem I have is that you did some custom programming for us to create what amounts to subcategories for our webinars on demand. When I use the ID for these resources I get a blank post. To do the custom work you recatagorized the replay posts as Replays in a separate function. Any workaround possible for this?
Thank you.
The website is WeTeachSuccess.org.
Please observe the four pieces of Featured Content at the top of the page. These are set to rotate at random, the content being drawn from the 200 different posts on the site. Imagine that a particular webinar about applying for COVID relief is still getting page views but because there is newer content on this topic, I no longer want to promote this particular post. I don’t want to delete the post from it’s category section. Can a flag be created for posts that would cause a post to be skipped from random rotation?
I hope this elaboration helps.
Thank you.
Definitely making progress. The menu will now open in mobile from the problem subpage. Interesting twist. On Friday I added a third subpage called “Ask a Business Advisor” to the submenu. In mobile this is visible from the Main Menu on the home page. But if one goes to a category page or a post only two subpages are visible and the newest one (mentioned above) is not.
The white box still comes up on desktop when accessing the submenu from Mentoring.

Thanks.
Thank you for this update. In desktop everything appears to be functional. I do still see the slim white box appearing between the submenu items. Since the background color is the same this is not too disruptive although the corner covers the page heading slightly.
In mobile from the SCORE videos submenu page this is the only page where the hamburger menu stack won’t launch.
I have inserted the code and it does solve part of the problem.
For example my menu items are as follows
Replays | Podcasts | Articles | Courses | Mentoring
The problem page was the second subpage below Mentoring called SCORE Videos. Now I can access from the problem page both the Courses submenu and the Mentoring submenu. However I can not choose the other submenu item under Mentoring. Also in desktop there is a blank white box about as tall as the space between the menu items. Perhaps this is in the way?
In mobile I have the same improvements except from SCORE Videos I cannot cause the hamburger stack to show a menu.
Thank you for this improvement. I look forward to your further solution.
We have pushed the site live in the past day in case you want to see. weteachsuccess.org Test user = 1@2.com PW = 12345678
I did an experiment by creating an empty page as a submenu item below the problem page. It displays the menu choices correctly. However, once I add content which consists of only the WP block video element and caption, then the menu access problem described in my original post occurs. Remove the video and the problem is gone.
Since the purpose of the page is to hold several videos unrelated to our main site content here’s what would help — How can I use a Newspaper block instead of the WP block to display videos but not have them picked up as members of my other categories? I don’t recall that we can exclude individual categories when we choose to display by Random or Most Recent as I do on the home page in certain blocks. This was my motivation to use the WP block — to keep this content segregated.
Thank you.
Disregard this inquiry. I didn’t not notice that the menu stack was a separate element from the header that had to be set to a particular menu. Thank you.
Thank you this resolved the issue.
Hi Calin,
You may be right, but the way the LearnDash LMS plugin works it doesn’t create a Post that is visible in the Post listings. So there’s nowhere to navigate to in order to change the post type. But if I understand you correctly, I can just change the PHP code to modify the dimension in the loop-single-1.php file and that would modify the size?
Thanks.
Yes that’s the image. Any ideas what controls it?
Thank you.
The link is right below my message in the original post.

Well by accident I discovered that if one removes the page number but leave the # sign in the appropriate on the Parent while setting up the menu, it does what I want — shows a standard pull down menu and suppresses the parent page.
Hi Vlad,
I’m not sure I understand. What would be the point of a Mega Menu feature if it could only list one subpage? Your documentation has many examples of multiple subpages in a Mega Menu such as the Travel section example.
What I am saying is although I have two subpages under the parent, Courses, only one will display. Please look at the screen shot I placed earlier in the thread. It is configured much the same now.
Another approach I can imagine is using the standard menu arrangement but then forwarding the parent to a particular subpage. That would accomplish the same outcome for me. Is that possible?
Thank you.
OK, this was successful in suppressing the parent page. Thanks for the lesson.
However, if I add subpages under the parent in the Main Menu, when the user clicks on “Courses” the Mega Menu appears but only one subpage appears. I have two set up in the Main Menu under Courses. Santa Clara Univ. is first. CEDF Courses is second. I thought the first might be hidden under the Main Menu but if I reverse the order nothing changes. I tried changing various properties of Mega Menu in TagDiv Composer but I can’t find a solution. Thanks.
The site in question is staging4.weteachsuccess.org
I have placed an image of my Menu setup in Appearance here: https://imgur.com/a/E2eVqsJ
I have placed two menu items to demonstrate.
The first called Courses is the normal arrangement with two subpages (CEDF Courses, Santa Clara University MOBI). This would be quite acceptable except if a user clicks on the parent page they end up on a WordPress page titled Archive.
The second demo item is called Courses MM. Here I enabled the Mega Menu by placing the parent page number in the designated field in setup. When a user points at this page only the first subpage is shown in the mega box. I also had the impression that the parent page was not supposed to be clickable. But I guess I misunderstood the documentation.
So is there a way to display only the subpages without a user being able to access null content on the parent page?
Thank you.
Thank you. These issues are solved.
Disregard please. This resolved when I rebuilt the element somehow.
Thank you. This resolved the issue.
Thanks for the response. I actually had read the docs showing the how to deal with non adsense ads.
Sometimes in WP there is more that way to do something which confuses the novice.
Here’s what I am seeing: https://imgur.com/a/mTxWF0d
I uploaded my ad into Media and it displays fine when I select it in the TD Composer control box. I enter the destination URL in the box circled and this causes a 404 because it goes to mysite.com/destinationsite.com instead of destinationsite.com. I I don’t see use of this box documented anywhere in the tutorials. In the Theme Panel control documentation there is discussion of pasting custom divs but the examples don’t contain a destination for the user’s click. They only contain a url of the media to display. But if I use TD Composer I have already accomplished this. Why would I even need to be in the Theme Panel?? Please help unconfuse me. Thank you.
Not sure if the user who posted this original post replied, but I have the same issue. I replaced the 300×250 ad for Newspaper X that comes with the demos with what I will call a “house ad” for our company. When clicked it does not redirect to the company url but to currentsite.com/companysite.com.
Am I misunderstanding the settings that can be accessed from TD Composer?
Thank you.
